Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Also it was hilarious how much Leif Thulein was glazing Jarrin Stevenson all of last year and this off-season. Dude does not look good at all. Leif was telling us he was a surefire lottery guy.

No way. Run of the mill average tweener big.

Btw he was 9-15 from the field and 2-4 from 3 in that game. Lets hope he also adds a game at some point where he shows he can also be a force on defense.

When looking at all the top prospects.. Ace is probably the only one you can make a proper case for that he develops into an elite #1 scoring option, since its really only about improving his handles and adding 1 or 2 moves to his bag. With Demin, Flagg, Harper saying they can be #1 options would involve a lot more projected development.
I would respectfully disagree. What projection is there is Harper? Dude is looking like a big-time scorer.

From the first half I watched of the Bama game, Philon was definitely giving Kasparas some problems defensively. Really impressive game.

I just love Kasparas game though. Super smooth as scorer and distributor, but will definitely have some growing pains playing against athletic guards.

Just some random thoughts on the top guys and how they would fit in with the current Jazz team:

- Flagg has crazy defensive potential and the highest MPV chance of anyone in the class. I don't trust his offensive creation potential happens within Lauri's timeline and so we would need really great guard creation. He might work best in space and so having a 5 out center could be best, especially if Flagg can makeup for any defensive shortcomings from that 5 out center.
- Dylan Harper would fit in extremely well with the current team. He is a big guard that can play defense, pass, and shoot, almost exactly what we need. He would need some time, as a rookie, to really fit within Lauri's time table, but I think he will have a positive impact very early.
- Egor Demin might be the real deal, but we need to see him vs real competition. His ball handling and passing at his height would open up everything in our system. If the shooting is real, then he fits in extremely well with all of our guys. Currently it seems too good to be true, so I'm trying to wait this out until we get more data. I'm not sure I would want to pair him up next to Keyonte, only because I don't know who guards the other team's best perimeter player.
- Nolan Traore has the potential to really lead our offense and set the table for our whole team in my opinion, if his shot starts falling consistently. He has great vision and change of pace, but his whole game opens up or falls apart when his jumper has to be respected or not. He's a good enough defender to fit next to another good defensive guard, but not good enough to take on the toughest defensive matchup every game. I think he is dropping on some boards because he plays overseas and has had a few bad games against really good competition. All of the top players will have some bad games, especially as they play better competition, so I'm not really worried. Later I'm going to look at French League stats vs what people do in their rookie years so I can start getting a better idea of what that league is.
- Ace Bailey reminds me of a younger/better Brandon Miller. I think he's going to be an amazing offensive weapon and someone that is going to be hard to pass up on. He's certainly not redundant to Lauri, but I don't see them as synergistic with each other either. I love so many of the guard in this class that I'm leaning guard, but I could easily see him as the best player from this class. I just also think we need more table setters, and I don't think that's Ace.
- VJ Edgcombe might end up being my favorite guy from this class. Truthfully at the moment I'm having a hard time differentiating these top 6. I would absolutely love to have someone as disruptive as he is on defense on our team. He's going to be able to get to the rim. If he ends up developing a shot, he will be an all star. For our current Jazz team I think we need some offensive connectors vs pure athleticism, but maybe Keyonte takes a leap and then having a guy who can make up for Keyonte on the defensive end becomes more important.

sorta random dylan harper post. after watching that game last night and having seen him in one previous game and a few from HS, it's pretty clear he's really good at basketball - i know, bold. but also, his shot is really flat. shooting has been a bit of a concern the entire time with him and it is a legit concern at this point. i don't he's a bad shooter, per se, but i do think he will need to tweak his shot if he's ever going to be a good shooter. currently shooting 31.3% from three. it's only a 4 game, 16 3pt attempt sample, so very small, but i also think it's indicative of the type of shooter he is based on his mechanics and how the shot leaves his hand.

31% isn't terrible - it's something you can work with, but if he finishes the season at about that number - and i believe he will -i think Cy is right. he's good, but i'm not sure he's top 3 good. maybe 5-7.

He reminds me of Cade. At this stage, he's probably better at driving and worse at shooting than Cade, but I have them in the same boat. In a normal year, I think he would be top 3 good....I think we might have three top 1 kind of guys in this draft though. There are 6 guys I really like early on, but he's probably 5-6 right now for me just because the others are so impressive.

If you are elite #1 scorer as a guard you gotta have exceptional explosiveness, quickness and/or craftiness to go with good to great shooting. I just think he is dynamic enough He also shot 34% from 3 in EYBL and now 31.3% so far in the college season with low volume.

But as I've said I'm a noob at this, so help me out:
Name one elite #1 scoring option who you think Harper can surpass as a scorer without projecting anything beyond of what he already can do?

Ace with some more incredible shotmaking+athleticism around the basket. One of the more intriguing prospects I can remember. I’m so curious to see how this holds up throughout the season.

Best thing about this game is that he looks legit very athletic. A lot of guys get billed as athletic then seem kind of underwhelming in game (Justin Edwards last year). He also has a great frame to add strength.

The dream for his offensive game would be SGA
