Following Potential 2025 Draftees

He’s got some playmaking around him. Pretending he has such a bigger load and is a better prospect than KD is unserious at this point. Maybe he gets there.

I don’t really think it matters. These guys are so good they transcend among the plebs in college basketball. As far as KD, he’s Kevin ****ing Durant. People using his name to make excuses for guys like Ace and Ian Jackson. Disgraceful.

KD was Wemby before Wemby and I’d even argue better than Wemby as a prospect. There was nothing theoretical about KD at Texas.

I fail to see how Flagg needing to be his own PG is relevant. KD probably couldn’t have (nod to Coop Dogg there), but even if he could have, it would have been a waste of his talents.

KD put up 29 ppg on 50%+ shooting from 3 (on high volume). He also murdered people in the post, led the league in blocks + rebounds, and led the nation in win shares.

In no way have his pro accomplishments eclipsed what people thought he could have been as a prospect. He was a force in college.

I almost feel bad for Flagg at this point. The kid never claimed he's the next Kevin Durant. It's just the people who can't enjoy basketball anymore unless there's some absurd treasure at the end of the tanking rainbow.

Flagg is being set up for "failure" in the NBA - in other words, he plays hard, misses a ton of shots, realizes he can't dribble against pro SF defenders and eventually finds his own path and role in the league. That role may not be anything like the glazing brigade is imagining right now.

I respect Flagg for trying to play the right way despite all the ridiculous hype elevating him to the level of all time greats. He clearly has a good head on his shoulders.

This was already discussed above. KD was/is a very good defender and rim protector, not to mention ballhandler.

Flagg has only proved he can play against future plumbers, used car salesmen and B-level overseas pros.
Beasley defended in college...

He was better than Durant in basically every advanced stat outside of 3pt volume and being slightly taller.

I know it's hard to separate the prospect from the pro because we know what their careers became. I think Flagg is a better prospect than Durant. He's going to have a Kawhi career without the injuries.

Your opinions aren't really valid because you think VJ better than Cooper.
Right now Flagg is the "better player" overall. The college game suits him. (Although he still has to work too hard to score against guys who will never sniff the league.)

I just happen to think that VJ has a much higher NBA ceiling. I see him blossoming in that cut-throat environment, whereas Flagg will struggle. He's too slow and too bad a shooter to make it as an NBA 3. He's not 6'10'', he's 6'8''.
