Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Starting to come to the conclusion that Ace's best case scenario is actually healthy Lauri Markkanen, lol.

-Can't create any separation
-Horrible passer
-Elite shooter
-Elite at the rim finisher
-Very big
-Extremely up and down defender

Had to think of guys this horrible at creating offense and passing that were stars or near stars other than Klay and Lauri though.

The big question is how good Ace's shooting and ability to move around screens actually is.

I think the MPJ comp isn't bad for Ace. I'd argue that there's also some Paul George, though not as explosive or capable getting downhill. Again, it's really hard to project what an NBA player will look like on a crowded college floor. But Ace looks like a high-level secondary scorer who benefits from someone else drawing defenders.

You know though, if Ace develops well he might be able to do some Tatum stuff.

In terms of pure advantage creation, the best advantage creators look to be Dylan Harper or possibly Derik Queen, assuming Queen is used in a high-post, Sabonis-type role. Otherwise, Flagg, Kasparas and Edgecombe should be able to create advantages in certain situations. There could be an outlier scenario where Collin Murray-Boyles becomes an on-ball creator, a bit like Draymond Green, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Guys like Demin and maybe McNeeley might be able to initiate if they work off a screen.

I just don't think MPJ is an interesting or game changing player at all. He can be the 4th best guy on a good team, but I don't think he's more than a fringe top 75 guy in the NBA.

Here is another 2nd round special Trent McLaughlin of Northern Arizona is averaging 21.7 ppg for the season and had 35 points last night. A 6'6" wing. It helps if you can put that globe shaped orange thing through the hoop.

he's good at throwing the orange thing towards the hoop. but just not that good at putting the orange thing through the hoop.

Maryland HC said Queen would be the #1 pick if he was white and European.

Classic college basketball hallucination. Queen is strictly a post player who thrives in the outdated NCAA environment where teams still pound the ball in half court and try to force it inside.

He's a crafty kid near the rim and kinda fun to watch, but nobody is a #1 pick these days with that kind of non-shooting. No need to bring race into this.
