Well then we’re in agreement, we shouldn’t let these guys dictate our draft decision. But the two things you mentioned are not all the same thing haha.

But getting back to Kas, I think if you don’t believe in Kas as a ball dominant player and needs to play next to another ball dominant player you shouldn’t consider drafting him anyways. That’s the point of drafting him.

You draft him because hes a good basketball player, not because you're pigeonholing him into a role on draft night.

Speaking of saunders, I feel like there should be more buzz about him.
29 minutes per game.
16 points per game on pretty insane efficiency: 52% from the field, 45% from three, 76% from the line and 62% Efg.
Only 1.3 turnovers per game too.
Insanely good catch and shoot guy. Elevates way high on his jump shot and has a crazy quick release making him almost unguardable. Good defense doesn't have much of an effect on him.

Maybe his age hurts him. Just turned 22 in January.

Because I doubt he leaves BYU this year. Dont really see him getting near the first round, could be a 2nd round pick or an undrafted 2-way guy, but just seems like he would return to school and get whatever NIL money he is getting and be on a really good BYU team.

Yep, that's kind of my point.
Not many players are playing better than he is. Based on play alone he should be a top 10 guy in the draft. If he were a top 10 guy in the draft he would definitely leave BYU.
I'm thinking age and maybe lack of athleticism is what is keeping him from rising up the draft boards like he should be doing with his elite level of play.

Saunders is the hub that is making it work though.
Like without Demin BYU wouldn't be as good. But it wouldn't be a huge drop off in play. BYU would still be a good team.
Without Saunders it would be a huge difference in play. BYU would suck.

They're both important. Richie is the hard nosed player that doesn't back down from anything and just gets better the bigger the challenge and is vital to BYU. Demin is the oil in the machine keeping all the parts working together and yes, there would be a big drop off in team play if he wasn't playing- the reason BYU has raised its level of play is the offense functioning so smoothly and that is mostly attributable to Demin, Richie has stepped up a bit, but he's been close to this good all season.

He has some skill, but just .... no. Not even close to a top 10 pick.

Between playing with AJ and the scouting eyes that come with that, and NIL, I'm guessing he comes back, unless his agent is hearing he goes in the first round.

knecht is nowhere close efficiency wise: 46%, 40%, 77%, 54% Efg. Compared to 52%, 45%, 76%, and 62% Efg.
Caruso either: 50%, 37%, 78% and 56% Efg.
Caruso as a senior averaged 8 points per game. Saunders as a junior is at 16.

Idk what Saunders comp is. Just know that he is playing as good or better as about any player in the country.

I think all guys in Saunders place should take full advantage of NIL and then go out. They will get some two-way deals or maybe a min salary for a year and then can bounce to Europe if things aren't working. Can make a fabulous living playing basketball. Because they have deeper roots with a school like BYU can come back and coach or do stuff in the market to make some additional earnings. I think this is the guy that NIL benefits most. He may end up having an NBA career but now can make a great living in and around basketball and really soak in the experience. He should absolutely use up all of his eligibility imo.
