Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I watched the Michigan vs Michigan State game yesterday. It feels like Jace is gradually getting more and more on ball reps. He looks really good attacking the rim, he rarely gets all the way to the rim, but has great body control and touch that he can take a bump and still make the shot. I really don't like his vision/passing right now, so that would need to develop if he's going to be anything more than just a 6th man type. There were a couple of crazy plays he was involved in though. On one play he fell down in the back court and did a little backwards summersault to get himself upright and then got back in the play. The other one was an inadvertent crash with a ref where it looked like he twisted his ankle a little bit, but his teammate didn't see it happen and so they pass it to him anyway and he buries a corner 3 off his bad ankle.

Wolf was really bad in the first half, missing shots, turning the ball over, etc., but in the second half was much better. He got really aggressive with about 5 minutes to go, but the game was already out of reach by them. I'm still confused by what he would look like in the NBA.

Really hope this is not how Ace and Harper finish out the season, lol.
I'd pass on Ace regardless given how Filip’s been playing. Unless we are trading Lauri and giving up on Hendrix, just don't see a scenario where Ace can get enough minutes here. And he's definitely one of these projects that need enough minutes and shots to develop.

Demin is like most the prospects in a draft. You are drafting what he could be. He was splitting double teams with a behind the back dribble that lead to a wide open corner 3. Then on defense he was guarding the other team's center. Yes he makes bad decisions sometimes. Yes his strength limits his ability to get good shots. Yes he would be a project. But the upside is there.
Yes especially our front court rotation makes the perfect environment for a guy like him.

Am I the only one who thinks Edgecombe is taller/bigger/longer than what various sites list him as? Or is his athleticism playing tricks on my brain?
When he jumps he looks like he is 6-7 because he's a special athlete. When he is just walking around the court or dribbling he looks 6-4.

Yeah you are. I wouldn’t be surprised if people started saying he’s 5’11 due to shrinkflation.

I do think for PG's staying in school does help more than any other position.

I think it depends on the player/situation. Sometimes these college coaches are just complete trash and don’t make them look good/develop them best. BYU has a pro style coach and system so maybe it’s good for him to stay there, but he could also fade into the back ground if AJ is there. Generally I think that if you’re a first rounder you should go and that NBA/G-League coaches are better for development than college coaches.

NIL complicates things but I generally agree. I do think with some guys it might extend the runway a bit for them. With Demin I think its a bit of a coin toss right now. I don't know how much money he gets in NIL tho and that would factor in. Any idea on how much he gets and what he could get next year?

Not sure, but talking out of my *** it's probably similar to a two way I'd imagine. Don't think NIL can truly compete with first round money because I know the top QB's are getting that kind of money and NCAA football is much bigger.

Money wise NIL has made NCAA much more viable, but whatever sport they play there (it isn't basketball) is still ****. He could also go back to Europe in theory.

Just speculating, but I'm guessing that he and his camp are going to poke around to gauge interest and it wouldn't surprise me if they try to place him in a good situation. Feels like the Jazz would be a good franchise for him to end up at.

Ryan Smith's family already broke the bank for AJ.

I'm not a BYU fan (or really follow them so maybe they're already positioned for next year), but would be nice if they sweeten their offer to convince Demin to stay if he's only getting potentially late 1st buzz so that BYU wont end up as a Rutgers this year. I want to see top players contend and make noise in March
