Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Locks kept saying that Clifford is 21, Thanksgiving has him at 23. That would be older than Key.
He's 23, don't listen to Locke for draft analysis.

(I'm kind of joking, Locke is fine, but he openly admits to not watching college basketball, so just take everything he says with that context)

Alright Locke lovers, he finished up his analysis on the top 30 guys and flagged six as “green” (green meaning good) prospects.

Cooper Flagg
Dylan Harper
Tre Johnson
Jase Richardson
Nique Clifford
Walter Clayton Jr.

I thought he also liked Maluach as a pick-and-role finisher. I understand the value of looking for red flags and green flags in college prospects' stats, but they have limited value in projecting what a prospect will become in 3-5 years. You also have to put some of these numbers into context.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Jazz's Big Board has Flagg, Harper and Johnson as the top 3. The incremental reward of Bailey or Edgecombe hitting their ceilings may not justify the risk that their lower floors present.

I don’t really know what to make of Yang either. FWIW, he played really well in the u19 World Cup last year. Looks like he played pretty well against Spain and France.

Against USA he was not efficient, but did post 8/10/7/6. Lot of familiar names on that USA roster like Cody, Harper, Tre, and Newell. Maybe I’ll watch that game if I’m able to find it.

Honestly, I think there’s a lot to the methodology if you’re just identifying the reds and greens (and as a result, yellows as well).
