The gist is that Milwaukee doesn't want to add a first so they get Clarkson instead of Key or Sexton. Dallas needs an established veteran as they are in win now and will need someone to take the reigns for Ky until he is back and supplement after. Milwaukee opens up some additional salary flexibility and can chase Tyus Jones or someone like that with MLE/BAE. I just think Milwaukee has to keep the 2031 pick out of any deal that doesn't land them some big needle mover. Even if I think Sexton is that... I'm not sure NBA teams do.
 
Unless we traded for Jase or Fears I'd likely want to keep Key. Third year is where guards tend to figure it out or you can just figure this is the player they are. Either way he will help the tank or boost his value. If he isn't pulling time away from someone else I'd just continue the experiment.
 
Sucks that so many of the top picks do not seem to be good shooters. We need better shooters.

I think Tre and Ace not being good or better passers is a bigger issue. We need passing desperately.

We're playing a dangerous game with tank+Lauri this upcoming season. With Key, I don't think it's quite a win-win situation because keeping him could mean we lose our pick next year. Getting rid of Collins and Sexton will help the tank, but I'm not super interested in testing our luck. If you want to keep Lauri, have to pay for it in other ways. I think we could get fair value for Key, and if we're able to we should be open to it. I think there are teams like DAL who will both see him as a future prospect and also a cheap contract who can contribute right away.

I see it. I do think if you move Collins and Sexton and you pay Walker... then you can manage Lauri and Walker's games played since they have both been paid. If you get Flagg then I think you really can't play with fire at all. If you land Dylan/Ace/VJ I think they will help you lose a bit more... The West is just going to be once again full. May have 14 of 15 teams actually trying to win, so it will help our case.

Its just tough after watching how effective Collin has been and how ineffective Key is to think that some teams in win now mode would be really excited about Key. I think Nico is in absolute desperation mode so would likely want the more proven option.

We're playing a dangerous game with Markkanen, who doesn't appear to have much against yearly long vacations. I'd like to see him a little bit irked about his zero postseason experience.
We don't know a thing about his playoff basketball, but we know we probably can get a nice package for him.
