Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I don’t see how that’s all related to roster construction. If the young guards on this team flame out, that is also very bad. Like why are Cody and Hendricks part of “roster construction” when they have way less proven than other young players? You’re trying to put together a puzzle that you don’t have any pieces for yet.

Even if we were going to say roster construction is very important, what guys are we even considering to be a part of that? I’d agree that we need more scoring, but that’s not because Hendricks is someone who we should be changing our pick for, it’s because Key is also not good enough. None of these guys except for Kessler are.

Whoever we draft, if the reasoning is the fit with Taylor Hendricks I am going to lose my mind. Only player good enough to influence our decision is Kessler, and all that means is we’re not a Maluach or CMB team which is fine.
Im not disagreeing with you. I was more just trying to play with potential different lineups and combinations while thinking of being a gm in a hot seat. Like it or not, due to their high draft position, Cody and Taylor are "viewed" as potential building blocks. I agree with you that neither are yet. But draft status does matter at least for a few seasons.

Because of that, I was thinking what might the Jazz view as the best complimentary players to those guys. Maybe becoming a dominant defensive team? I don't know. But if Danny and Justin think adding a 2-way SG is going to help compliment the other players he may go that route. Again just thinking about possibilities. I've never been a fan of Keyonte so the sooner we can move on from him the better. Maybe Tre Johnson is the best fit with his lights out shooting ability.

But it does seem that Danny and Justin are trying to at least get potential 2-way players with there top lottery pick based on the last 2 drafts.

Our GM is not on the hot seat, and if he was, it’d be because there are no guys to construct a roster around. Getting a player who you consider an actual piece is most important. Does not matter what kind of player that is.

IMO about zero. We don't have good enough players or even prospects to allow any of them influence what we do with this pick. And the only player who is good enough to maybe influence something is seamless fit with pretty much any roster construction.
Some thought should absolutely be put into consideration. For example, if VJ and Tre have similar value in talent you take Tre because he fits the roster better and what coach wants to do. However if Ace is available along with Tre and Ace doesn’t fit as well, you take Ace because I do believe he has a much higher ceiling and chance at stardom. I am so sick of reading all these posts of people saying our young guys aren’t anything we absolutely have guys that. Have lots of potential.

They are not nothing and some of them can be part of our future. But they are not at the level where you make decisions for the no. 5 pick because of them. If you think a player X is the best prospect at 5 you take him. I would not even consider if for example some part of his skillset overlaps with Keyonte or Collier or Sensabaugh or... anyone really. You just take the best player/prospect.

Watching Noa

+Smart
+Plays hard
+Tall and long
+Some skill here
-No explosion at all
-Body is a massive work in progress, just so thin
-Can dribble and shoot kind of, but still years away from using these skills effectively in NBA game.
-Position locked at PF

He needs to put on a ton of weight and his frame is kind of weird and I don't know how well he can put on weight.

It is pretty obvious that the Jazz are looking for shooters and perimeter defenders at the top of their draft, hopefully both at the same time. If you draft 4 of those guys and even if only 2 work out, you are way, way ahead in team construction. This why I laugh when people think the Jazz will go another direction if Ace is there at 5.

1. The Jazz were not aiming for Hendricks, they were aiming for Coulibaly and Hendricks was their worst case scenario.
2. Cody was drafted as a shot creator who was just terrible at defense in college and terrible at shooting in high school.
3. The Jazz strongly considered taking Keyonte (one of the worst defenders in the NBA) at 9, picking Hendricks 9th because they thought Keyonte may be at 16.

It's hard to tell the Jazz have a type precisely from their love for Coulibaly, Keyonte, and Cody Williams. These guys don't have much in common other than Keyonte and Cody Williams being really intelligent off the court.

I genuinely love how every post of yours is said with complete fact of the matter confidence. It’s not your opinion, it’s undisputed fact.

And everything is horrendous or atrocious.

RIP nuance, opinion and dialogue.

Do you have tiers?

Do you have tiers?

Usually, I do tiers, but if I'm being honest I don't think the tiers add much at this point haha:

Obvious

Feels likely that this group will shift around many times before the draft. Have don a TON on each of these guys:

3. Kas
4. VJ
5. Jase
6. Tre
7. Fears
8. Kon
9. Ace

Haven't done as much on these guys so I feel less confident separating them, my basic outline:
