Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I didn't think Harper doubters existed until I got into the draft twitter algo. I think some of the concerns are fair. His shooting is really not a guarantee at all. One could argue it's about the same as Fears. He also had a big drop off against top 50 competition, but that might be related to some timing issues with him being sick.

At the end of the day, I think his rim attack is too hard to overlook. It's about as good as it gets and the ability to get to the rim is still the most premium skill for me.

Here's a question... if SAS are that unconvinced by Harper and willing to entertain trades... shouldn't we be bidding for that pick? Be it using picks or using... player(s)?
Im not that sold on Harper tbh. He's a pretty safe good player, but Im not giving up a ton to get him vs just taking Tre.

Cedric Coward's competition at Eastern Washington would be similar to Dillon Jones at Weber St.

Sample size of one, but Dillon Jones doesn't seem like he had the greatest season in the G-League.

For those that want to see what poor competition looks like, go watch the Portland Bible College film on the Coward Hardwood Hoops video. It's pretty hilarious.

Closest reference point would probably be Sixers trading up for Fultz. The Sixers traded #3 (considered a tier below 1-2 at the time) and one future pick (which was expected to be good pick).

Could also say Mavs trading up to #3 for Luka, which was a similar price for moving up from #5.

The Bulls traded #2 (LMA) and a second for #4 (Tyrus Thomas) and Victor Khryapa. The Bulls are so stupid lol.
Did the jazz trade up for the pick that was d will

Teams only trade down in the top 3 if they dislike the player they're projected to get and prefer someone else other than the consensus.

This worked well for Boston and really bad for everyone else who has tried it.

Tatum over Fultz (great)
Tyrus Thomas over LMA (oh no)
Martell Webster over CP3 and Deron Williams (man, what the ****)
Trae over Luka (not good)

I think the 76ers have Kon at #3 so they may trade down with the Hornets or Wizards to pick up some picks.

The Pelicans also traded down from #4 to #8 and picked up #17 and #35. #4 turned into DeAndre Hunter (7th man) while #8, #17, and #35 turned into Jaxson Hayes (scrub) and NAW (8th man). That didn't turn into a big deal either way though obviously they wish they stayed at 4 and picked Garland (but Garland was a very risky prospect)
