Following Potential 2026 Draftees

It will be important to secure team friendly contracts as our players get raises. The second round is basically FA. The Jazz need to get in that market this draft.
Clips and Boston actually have 4 second round picks total in that 30-40ish range that we should be targeting. Boston is tricky if they don't want a Nurk for Simons swap of some variety. Clips should be easier to do. DJJ would actually be a decent vet piece next year at $10M so I'd be willing to take some future money on if that is the guy they wanted to move (likely out most of the year).

I'm not super worried about being able to acquire seconds, I just hope the FO seizes the opportunity. And that goes for this trade deadline as well. I understand holding onto our vet contracts just in case there is a trade, but past deadline we should really have open roster spots for guys to tryout. Harkless, Oscar, and Tonje should get their chance as well as whoever we can get in the revolving door of GLeague guys. We talked about this earlier, but the real "development" of these guys is mostly just revealing if they are trash or not. As we move forward, less and less minutes will be available for discovery....so it's better to get them sooner than later and most importantly locked down onto long term deals.

We're going to need our own versions of Rollins, Queta, Champagnie, Spencer, Gillspie etc.
