Following Potential 2026 Draftees

Hasn't he played like 2 games and is still on a minutes restriction?

When he's in the game you can feel his impact, at least for the minutes I've seen him.
3 games. I think most of the buzz on him is based on last year... which he was good but did have some big flaws still.

I think we have to see what he looks like at year end but he looks kinda clunky to me.

Unless a center can shoot or is like All-Defense and can do some interesting things on offense... I am just not sure you should take them top 10. Not sure the passing or finishing is good enough to justify the risks with him in the top 8. Need to let it play out obviously.

He was great in that first game, but the Alabama game was a lot less flattering. The Bama backup big was really giving him issues on both ends.

He's just getting back so I'll be patient. But he gets a ton of hype on twitter, many putting him top 4 or even higher. Those are some high honors in this class.

This made me laugh out loud for reals at work. Good thing I'm in an office and I don't think anybody heard me.
I've watched two highlight packages now so am a Wagler expert. He looks like he plays pretty big. Not an explosive athlete but moves better than Kon as far as getting separation on ball. Only think I didn't like is the jumper has a little bit of a low release but he will figure that out.

IDK... high level connectors will always be a player type I will gravitate towards.

He kinda has to be like Bam/Isaac to justify his current standing in the draft and I'm not sure I can quite get there. I think he goes back half of the lotto if I was to guess right now.

Threw together a list to have one for the start of 2026

The Jazz absolutely can't draft a guy with a bad defensive grade this year. We have way too many non defenders on this team.

Lauri and Key have shown that they can be good enough offensive hubs to have a good offense. If we draft in the 5-8 range I need someone with defensive talent.

I understand the concern with Lopez. I’m not worried about Neo. Tounde should be a plus-defender.

Ace and Walker defend. Ace gets lost a fair amount, but he’ll figure it out.

Some of our bad defense is intentional.

We might not get a good enough sample size to really make an educated decision on him, because he might not be fully up to game speed by the end of the season. Coming back from that type of injury for a guy that relies on his physicality and athleticism probably isn't going to happen very quickly. I'm really not expecting much from him, although it would be nice to see some progress on his offense by the end of the year.

Guys that can really defend the paint and also defend out on the perimeter are pretty rare. I probably wouldn't take him top 10 if I'm the Jazz because of Kessler, but I do think he's going to be a game changing defender in the NBA.

I think Tounde will be a *safe* pick and will probably end up a top-10ish guy when it's said and done. He might not be a star, but he should be a very solid NBA player with a long career. Think like a Jerry Stackhouse. Teams love that archetype.
Ferg comping a wing who cant shoot to a mid 00's scoring wing is a draft death sentence. See Cody Williams/Sprewell.

The problem with the Sprewell comp is that Sprewell was one of the toughest, fiercest competitors you’ll ever see, and if Cody were any more laid back he’d be upside down. The competitive fire seems to be lacking.

Cody might still pan out though. Just needs to work on his body and shooting.

Yeah so you one upped it by comparing a dude who looks like a mediocre offensive player to a guy who averaged 30 in the NBA at one point...

Sprewell never averaged 30pts in his career. He was also a mediocre shooter coming into the league, but he was a 2-way guy, a wiry defender who could punish smaller guards offensively when he needed to.

No, you did Tounde to Stackhouse, who once averaged 30 PPG in a season. That's the one up. You went from pretty dumb with the Cody/Sprewell to FUBAR with Tounde/Stackhouse.

If Tounde works well I think its like Dillon Brooks with some bounce?

Stackhouse was normally a 16-20ppg guy. His career 3pt% is 31%. His college numbers are also comparable to Tounde so far and Tounde is trending in the right direction with improved shooting.

Stackhouse did have one year in Detroit at the peak of his career where he avgd 29 pts, but he never shot better than 42% from the field or 35% from 3pt.

Stackhouse as a physical comp and role model make sense, as does his scoring efficiency. Tounde is capable of averaging 18-20ppg in the league, imo.

I was thinking Dort, but we're kind of at the same place anyways. Seems like a great defensive prospect who will need to find a way to survive on offense.

I expected his shooting to be suspect and honestly the 80% FT shooting shows some hope. But I thought he'd be better at getting to the basket. Low rim rate and FTr.

I talk a lot about guys scaling up into a bigger role in the NBA, but Tounde is going to need to go the other direction.

Not sure he is as good as Dort or will be allowed to commit felonies on the court like Dort... or I'd go that route. Think he has more juice offensively than Dort (if he works out).

I wanted to love him to start the season but nah. I like him though.
