Following Potential 2026 Draftees

AJ has played 6 games in the month of December. These are his December stats:
27.8 points per game
8 rebounds per game
5.7 assists per game
2.3 steals per game
65.9% field goal percentage
77.9% free throw percentage
29.4% three point percentage (been saying from day 1 that 3 point shooting and loose handle are the things that he needs to improve. His midrange is elite though)
2.5 TO's per game
1 foul committed
6-0 record

Weird amount of AJ-TMac comparisons instead of AJ-Kobe imo.

T-Mac in general is a weird player for comparison as he had a four year prime, one historically elite season in that prime, and then a bunch of just OK years post injury.

IMO huge size differential between Kobe and tmac is main reason. Kobe was 6’4.5” and tmac was true 6’8”.

definitely a player that has become more overrated as the years have passed. soft, lackadaisical, are words that come to mind. while their size, athleticism and skillset are somewhat similar - hence the comparisons - AJ appears to have a much tougher game and a consistent competitive mindset that came and went with mcdgrady.

I’d be thrilled to draft the next Tracy mcgrady

TMac is probably more underrated than overrated.

I understand, but I remember TMac just doing pullup jumpers every time, whereas AJ is much more paint, free throw, and midpost focused which is much more similar to Kobe.
Tmac got to the FT line a ton and its kind of like he played in an era where the court wasnt as spread out as nowadays.

Hyper-specific player comparisons are counterproductive to begin with, but the Dybala-TMac comparison isn't based on TMac's injury history lol.
