Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

I mean, Reid is a 5. I dont think he can play any 4 due to defense. It wouldn't be a good pick for Utah.

Claxton is a better high potential pick because he's more of a 4/5 who can defend on the perimeter.

Agreed, really don't see any point at all in going after a full time 5. Just no minutes to be had there.

Claxton is interesting, not sure though.

I agree with this. I'm not really high on Claxton though tbh.

I like what I see from Reid. Ball handling big and I actually thought he looked like he had decent vision. At least from the highlights (lol). Not sure he contributes much right away but he has tools.

Not sure how well Edwards will be able to get his shot off from 3, how well he’ll be able to get by guys, or how well he’ll be able to finish in the NBA. He feels like the type of kid who’s probably maxed his athletic ability and therefore excelled pretty well in college, but in the NBA, the athletes are more athletic, longer and stronger. Not sure he has much room to develop in that regard and could see him struggle if a defender gets in his face. Not sure. Maybe he could bust his ***, get stronger and yet lose 3-7 pounds to get quicker which is what Burke has done. Tough call. I’d probably rather take the chance on Bazley and see our world class coaching staff develop him, and then if Edwards or another guy slips into the 2nd who we like, try to move up to get him.

Edwards seems like a rich man's Jimmer to me. Jimmer with some athletic pop (though it's really strange how poorly he tested as a vertical athlete).

I don't think getting his shot of is a huge issue, but they won't be good shots unless he becomes a great shooter. He gets into his shot off the bounce really fast and he has deep range. He's athletic and strong enough to be a blow-by threat you can't just hug up on.

No it’s not. He doesn’t appear to have much bounce in his jump.

It’s decent and a couple of his dunks look nice because dude gets solid speed going and all but he doesn’t seem to have great leaping ability. Has those thick *** soccer legs. Sort of heavy in that way.
