For those of you doubting Gordon Hayward...

At the end of the day it is impossible to have unbiased discussion here - I am out. Sorry, but to me George is All-star and future superstar while Hayward - decent starter, good role player. Until he proves otherwise you guys can call him god or better then George or whatever, as long as that makes you happy I guess.

1.4% difference in usage rate is not far more often. It is barely more often. And I think you should look at per game numbers and not per 36 min.
.4% is not clearly better. With 1.4% more usage.

Why go per game when George plays more minutes? Obviously you want to use per game because they skew the #'s to your argument. So when on the floor he touches the ball 1.4% more often. George will have better #'s per game because he played more minutes per game. So he was 1.4% more likely to touch the ball per possession and he got more possessions per game because he played more minutes. Making the amount of times he touched the ball in the game mean more than just some usage %.

George is an all star (a term I find a joke considering the way the come up with them) in the East. Does he make the all star team if playing for the Jazz in the west with Millsap and Al taking most of the shots?

I maintain that we should have BOTH players. Indy would have traded that pick for Millsap and a future first, but we were still in wait-and-see mode. The argument over who is better is clumsy.

I'm glad we don't have Xavier Henry. /threads

57.4% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

That said, this season we will get to see what Hayward is, and isn't. He is no longer in anyone's shadow. This team is his for the taking. As my father-in-law always said, if you leave the table hungry it's your fault. If Hayward can't take over this team and become an all-star this season, it's his fault. It is all laid out for him, and he has the experience and years to begin entering his prime. It is really in lots of ways now or never for him. By next season the others will be coming on strong, so Hayward needs to take advantage and become THE MAN right now, this coming year. His time to shine, or burn out.

I never said it is per 36 min. I said per game. Big difference.
The big difference is Ty trying to placate his "veterans," including Foye and Marvin Williams. Hayward needs to start and play 35 mins. Then "per game" stats will mean something. By your method, Jazz should just release Kanter, Favors and Burks. All those guys absolutely sucked on a per game basis. On the other hand, definitely bring back Mo, Jefferson and Foye. On a per game basis, their stats were much more impressive.

Their stats are damn close. Well within variation that each player will experience from season to season, yet to you (being unbiased LMFAO) that makes one a decent starter and the other an all-star. Yeah, you're out. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
