For those of you doubting Gordon Hayward...

There are two areas where George clearly is better than Hayward.

George rebounds better.
George is blacker than Hayward. If Hayward was black do you think we would be calling him "surprisingly" athletic? He is either athletic or not. Just choose one. He can be athletic and white. It is not mutually exclusive.

Paul George might play better defense than Hayward. But Hayward plays pretty darn good D and he is on a terrible defensive team.

George definitely plays better defense than Hayward. Hayward, imo, doesn't have the level of defense it takes to guard the upper echelon of players at most positions. I would feel comfortable with George guard Derrick Rose, I wouldn't feel the same with Hayward.

So TO are only from making bad passes? Maybe Hayward is better at avoiding charges or stepping out of bounds?

Why did you delete the part of the post that clearly labeled the post as being sarcastic and act like it was a serious statement?

By your method, Jazz should just release Kanter, Favors and Burks. All those guys absolutely sucked on a per game basis. On the other hand, definitely bring back Mo, Jefferson and Foye. On a per game basis, their stats were much more impressive.

Hayward played almost 30 min a game two seasons in a row - not much difference from George. Kanter, Burks, Favors are different story - they played way less minutes then Hayward, you can't use them as example.

I can never tell if you are serious or joking

You can usually tell he is being sarcastic when he specifically says at the bottom of the post that he was being sarcastic. That's the way I figured it out... Reading is super fun

Since when is 29 mpg the same as 37? Hayward and George did not play the same minutes per game. When George's minutes increased, his scoring went up 5 points per game. Hayward's time decreased, and his scoring still went up. This argument about George being a better scorer and passer is false. The are essentially the same offensive production wise. If anything, hay is a slightly better scorer, and George passes slightly more with more turnovers. .4 more assists does not make him clearly a better passer. Especially not when you factor usage and turnover rate.

If I'm reading Hoopdata correctly George had 27 offensive fouls, Hayward had 9, so yeah it factored in a little.

I think we all like/love Hay, but personally I don't think he's a sure thing.
Things are looking good, but some questions about his shooting, and ability as a leader remain.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Hayward a career 40% 3 point shooter, and 80%+ ft shooter?
This thread should probably die now
Any thread that AKMVP posts in should die... Yes your correct.

The only question I have about Hayward's shooting is he can become a better shooter off the dribble, don't have the numbers or anything, but I would assume he is at best an average shooter off the bounce.
