With Truly, Madly, Deeply, the nostalgia goes back to when, as a kid, I didn't have a TV in my room (a huge cry of shame for a teen in the 90s), so when I didn't get to watch TV or play games, I would end up in my room listening to Casey Kasum's top 20 (abbreviated top 40). During the time I started listening to it, the top song was a song from a movie every teen male in the world hated with extreme disgust, My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion. I was no different. I believe My Heart Will Go On had the longest run at number 1, and Truly Madly Deeply shot to number 2 and stayed there a long time until finally it got to number 1.
I do remember that Truly Madly Deeply stayed in the Top 5 or Top 10 a lot longer than My Heart Will Go On, which is something I really shouldn't remember.
This nostalgic remembrance is why I posted it. Not just putting songs up I really liked and diluting the "nostalgia" factor like some might be doing.
Savage Garden had multiple songs that got a lot radio play. In Natalie Imbruglia's case Torn got played a ton, but none of her other songs had anywhere near as much success.
I still hear Chicken Cherry Cola.
Best. Music. Video. Ever.
And in his time Robert Palmer was the very definition of cool.
