Doncic is passing already way better than Dirk ever was and his basketball IQ is way beyond years. And with the game in NBA is evolving bigs like Ayton may not be much of a game changers anymore. Doncic on the other had is already leading Mavs at 19!.. Just fast forward 4-5 years in the future, kid will be in MVP discussions.

It usually takes a center longer to develop. People tend to compare Ayton to David Robinson (probably because they saw it on NBAdraft.net) and that would be his ceiling for certain. I know NBAdraft.net also compares him to Kemp which is probably Ayton's floor, stats-wise anyways. Ayton will be a better scorer than Kemp, especially from three (not sure why Phoenix hasn't pushed Ayton to shoot from beyond the arc).

Yes, Doncic is a better passer than Dirk and the statistics show it. If he continues to improve as we expect he will he will be amazing.

I like both players and they'll likely be the top-2 players from the 2018 draft. But I think Sacramento, Memphis and Atlanta will feel more burn of passing on Doncic than Phoenix (though as mentioned I think all five players will have solid careers).

Mavs have had an easier schedule. Played some easier teams like Phoenix, Knicks, Atlanta, Chicago, Lakers, Wizards.

And 3 of our losses are to teams with a combined record of 29-3 (and that record includes one loss in games between them).
