What's new

Game 28: The Jazz visit Atlanta December 19, 2019 5:30pm mtn

Good win boys. Problem is too many minutes by the starters. Four players with 36+ minutes. I'm not sure how sustainable that is over the season. Again parts of our bench were stinky in other words Green, Davis and Niang and some awful +- numbers.

We have no choice, we're barely getting by with the minutes they're playing right now. The bench gives up too much.

Niang -12 in 19 minutes
Green -11 in 16 minutes
Davis -11 in 11 minutes

I still continue to believe the problem with our bench is Niang and Davis. Niang just doesn't provide enough versatility to justify regular rotation minutes. Davis seems to be a poor system fit.

Green I can live with. He's incredibly inconsistent but when he's having a good night it's a nice boost for us. When it comes to him and Mudiay you just kinda have to take the bad with the good. It's why they are bench players.

Green is a floor-spacing big who can attack a closeout. There isn't much expected of him. His lack of rebounding hurts though.

The problem with Ed Davis is that he can't score, can't pass, can't dribble, and can't rim protect. That really shows up for a center. At least Bradley eats up some space in the paint and can catch and finish.

The problem with Georges Niang is that he's slow. He can do a few things, but not really at NBA speed. He makes Joe Ingles look pretty fleet.
