What's new

Game Of Thrones

Am I the only one rolling my eyes every time he has yet a different character, in completely different circumstances, dramatically say something like "such things must one be willing to do when one dares to play the GAME OF THRONES!" Ugh. We get it. It's a cool name. Is that really what every single unconnected character interested in a little more power calls it? Is it like "two - party system" for us? That's the most heavy handed thing he does repeatedly, in the books at least.

In Game of Thrones, you play the game of thrones to gain some thrones and in so doing you might need to paint the streets to rose.

That's exactly why I resisted the temptation.

I watched'em on purpose because it sucks more if I wait for a week for every darn episode to air so that it becomes kind of a boring habit to view'em on a perfect schedule. Instead, I kicked the asses of first four episodes, closed the machine, prayed for the remaining to keep leaking, and basically forget about the whole thing until they come out on their schedule. I actually told my wife that we should wait for the 9th episode to air before going any further to the season and wait for the dang season finale. But who am I kidding. I will be the first one to download it. In our house at least. Well that makes me the last too.

When he has someone say "and so we play the GAME OF THRONES!" I always hear it in Sheldon's voice from Big Bang Theory, and specifically when he is trying to lie for Leonard. This part:

Is something bad bound to happen to Sansa Stark?

Boy, I hope I'm ready... :(

So far this season, there has been lots of manoeuvrings of the show's main characters, but not a lot of action.

That's set to change, says Alfie Allen, who plays Theon Greyjoy.

"There's something that happens about halfway through this season that is really going to make huge waves. And people aren't going to be happy about it. It's hard to watch," Alfie told website Zap2it.

"I bear witness to this thing, and it's crazy, sort of having to portray how messed up everyone's situation is through my own reactions to what happens," he added.

"Get ready for it."

Allen also hinted that Greyjoy's character is about to undergo a makeover.

"I would go so far as to say maybe Ramsay Bolton is the new Joffrey in town, and then probably me followed closely after that."

Can't believe we're already 1/3 of the way through the season.

Then we have to wait 1 more year. ONE. MORE. YEAR. !!!!

Maybe the issues in Mereen will finally tell Daenerys it is time to take her dragons and go conquer the rest of Westeros like she is supposed to be doing.

Very good season so far. Episode 3 has been my favorite so far. Still, maybe the best opening episodes to a GOT season so far. Really excited to see what happens in the second half.

I have a new favorite thing to hate that he does regularly in the books. It has gotten worse as the books progressed (late in book 4 now). When he has characters say "coz" in reference to their cousins. I hear them in some kind of jive tone, "say, cuz". Irritating.
