What's new

Game Of Thrones

I have decided that I absolutely must read these books.

You've just decided that? Oh well…better late than never I suppose.

I've decided to re-read them. How sick is that?

I've read the series twice now, I'll probably try to start again if he ever finishes the next book. I highly advise reading it multiple times, as you pick up on a lot of cool things and new theories/ideas.

Agreed. When I read them, I was trying to plow through them and definitely missed some stuff. I am taking my time on the re-read and already seeing some stuff that didn't really mean anything to me the first go-round. And Robert and the Lannisters just reached Winterfell!

It has been more about me finding excuses not to than not wanting to. Now I simply don't have any valid excuses anymore.

I hated the way the Tyrion jailbreak differed from the book. Part of what drives Tyrion in the later books was Jaime telling the truth about what happened to Tysha, and the anger that comes from it. They took that whole part of the character away.

The other changes...no big deal. But I would have like to have seen
Lady Stoneheart
appear.

Yeah the jailbreak scene really lacked because of the omissions. I thought it was pretty weak overall. Shame as I really wanted to see how it played out on screen.

Fantastic last episode.

Those that are complaining about the differences between the show and the books don't seem to understand the limitations translating written page to screen time or rather how 1 page of script with action scenes translates to screen time.

I guess what I'm trying to say is shut the **** up all of you and enjoy a great show. If it bothers you that much, stop watching or stick to just reading the books.

Come on, Richard, please have some intellectual honesty with this. The complaint is that they took a major part of a character's driving force and wrote it out with a rushed scene. The other stuff that was changed...meh. The Tyrion scene did not do justice to the character. Not even close.

I'll tell but not yet. It is related to GoT, that's the biggest hint I'll give.

I'll never get it then, GoT is on my list but I haven't watched it yet.

Came up with this one as I have been started reading the first book for some time now. It's a cover made in a TV show in TRT, the official TV and radio channel for Turkey.
