I am not complaining about Trey's performance last night, and I am not hating for the sake of hating. I am just not impressed like Rev thinks I should be. He had a decent game, it wasn't incredible. Taking 21 shots to score 26 is never impressive to me.

I've been a Trey critic for 1 1/2 years. However, I LOVE my Jazz. And they'd be a helluva lot better if Trey could develop into a decent starter. Dante still is a long ways off from being an NBA starter. He's not even a great backup right now. I will gladly eat crow if Trey could consistently shoot 45%/38%.

I have been a Burke supporter but not nearly at the level of some others. I really try to avoid the constant bashing of our players that some seem to enjoy.

Having said that. I am starting to slowly become more pesimistic on Burke. He needs to figure it out and soon. There is still hope, take Kanters recent improvement, but I'm starting to waiver a little.

He had a better floor game, but his D was still embarassing at times, and he still dribbled past a couple PnR's with the bigs for less good shots, which he happened to make. Decent, but not impressive TBH.

I want the kid to succeed. I don't want us to be out an assett.

So you are in the spend less camp as a recipe to the title?

Nope. I'm in the spend wisely camp. You don't throw out huge contracts to aging veterans and players with questionable attitudes and/or work ethics. You try to build a team with complementary talents, not just players who all need to be the #1 or #2 options.

Maybe 45% is unrealistic, but I don't think a leap to 38% on 3's is that much. That's average for a PG or wing. DMC made a leap from 28% to 38% under QS' guidance. It mainly equates, IMO, to better shot selection. I go back to Snyder's comment about a 7% difference between contested vs.. uncontested shots. Trey just needs to take good shots. Last night he only had a couple where I was almost 100% sure he was going to miss (awkward and off balance). Ironically, he did hit that one in the 4th falling off to his left. That was not a good shot for him to take, though.

Agreed. If Q could take the Mo Williams out of Trey, I would like him a whole lot more.

Love seeing all the Trey haters shut up. I thought he played well last night too in LA. Forcing it less, playing with energy, and with more focus. The hatred for trey has been unwarranted, and over the top. Yes he's been frustrating, but hes also had good games, a solid rookie year, and is still a baby. Give him a chance to grow before throwing him to the wolves at 22.

It's one good game. Don't overreact.

He's still hurting this team and I'm not so sure he's got much left before hitting his ceiling as an NBA player.

I want Burke to play PG and get more assists while becoming a better defender. It's not easy to do in this system as a PG but he can do it. I've seen him make some nice passes over his brief career. If he makes the players around him better he'll get easier scoring opportunities.

38% is above average--only two teams are shooting above that this season. I doubt he'll ever hit that considering he is unathletic and can't get open, is short and always has bigger defenders on him, and sucks at the spot-up three.

I could live with 43.5%/35.5% tbh.
