What's new

Game thread: jazz play a game in a couple of hours, the Timberpups edition.

The Jazz have pushed out many players now because do not merely want to be "playoff competitive," but rather "championship competitive." If they were going to be content with what they had, they would have re-signed Al Jefferson.

Look at the Atlanta Hawks and ask yourself the next time we will have a record like theirs. That's the Jazz team the front office abandoned. Now look at the T-wolves, Wizards, Kings, Pelicans, Hornets etc. Who the hell knows what will come of these teams; some are improving, others not. We do know that they have been horrendous for years. No amount of draft pick guaranties anything.

In order for the Jazz to be a better team, they need a player to surpass Hayward as a #1 option. That probably has to be done at the top of the lottery.

We have 3 bigs who are good, but not great.

Remember Hayward will be unrestricted in 3 years. He will not stay here if we are in perpetual rebuild mode. The TWolves tried this and Kevin Love wanted out. I think the Jazz are about done with the draft to be honest, too much of a crap shoot. For all the hype Exum got, look at him. He is the complete opposite of his scouting report.

Excels at getting to the basket and drawing fouls … Finishes through contact and can score with either hand … Excellent body control allows him to make very acrobatic shots at the rim … Opposing defenders are constantly off-balance due to his effective hesitation moves and explosive first step … Moves well without the ball – makes good use of screens and does it at a relatively high rate of speed … Can create scoring opportunities for both himself and his teammates … Just scratching the surface in certain areas of his game – effective at making floaters, shooting off the step-back and posting up, but does not use these skills very often

Exum won't even drive to the basket...even if you pay him millions of dollars. I just want to see him drive and shoot at least two times per game, just like I want to see Rudy shoot the ball two or three times without an assist from another player. That's the next step for both of them.

Explain how he does not play "winning basketball", and since you're Diamond77 I'm sure this will include an explanation on how Kanter does by some lame arbitrary criteria.

First of all I didn't mention Kanter in that phrase so I have to explain nothing.

Favors lack of passion for the game is not a news....I'm not first to say it and neither the last!
It does not seem to me that he is so hungry for winning games. He often hides or fails down the stretch. He is consistent and brings a lot of things on the table but I don't remember a game that he took over and we won. That said, I repeat that he is really a good player!

Now I want your explanation why you think that he plays winning basketball.

He does not seem to me that he is hungry enough for winning games. He often hides or fails down the stretch. He is consistent and brings a lot of things on the table but I don't remember a game that he took over and we won. That said, I repeat that he is really a good player!

If he lacks passion why did he go with his trainer and just shoot 300 free throws in between back to back games?
