Gay Nightclub mass shooting -- Orlando, Florida

This has nothing to do with being Christian and everything to do with being a hypocrite and an idiot in general. I'll remind you once again, that we're talking about a post wherein someone said "Look, I don't like gays either, but I wouldn't go as far as killing them."

And I know you know better than to compare hypothetical violence towards Christians with the very real violence that happened in Orlando. And happens all the time to LGBTQ+ people.

I was going to just ignore you, but you continue to mischaracterize me. I never said I don't like gay people, Jim. I understand if you don't believe me, but at this point you're literally making stuff up. I'll try again, maybe it'll get through this time: I disagree with the action. That does not mean that I dislike, hate, or even not enjoy the company of said person. I don't expect you to agree with me, I don't expect you to like me, or even be kind. All I ask that you at least get straight what I'm saying, otherwise you're no better than those that you're preaching against.

This thread isn't a Religious issue, not a sexual orientation problem, it's a Canadians thing.

I've seen Jim, Dala, and GVC flock together.
It's heart-warming tbh. Glad to see people unite no matter the peaceful cause.

And, I gotta say, people who find GVC a great poster (and I've had times I've said the same) must be enamored with chest thumping. I've lately found his posts weak and lacking anything but soapbox.. But hey.. He does has had good takes on the reg.

I'm not impressed with being called dumb as ****.. too easy.

You don't have to say it. By calling a state of being an "action," you're saying everything you need to say. Here, how does this sound?

"I never said I don't like Christian people, #bern. I'll try again, maybe it'll get through this time: I disagree with the action. That does not mean that I dislike, hate, or even not enjoy the company of said person."

I don't like religion, and I don't think it's a good thing. But that doesn't mean I have any problem whatsoever with religious believers. So I'm with you.

I don't have a problem with what you did there. I might even call it a shockingly tolerant viewpoint coming from you.

The gunman who massacred 49 people at the Pulse club in Orlando was reportedly a regular at the gay nightspot and used gay dating apps.

As a fuller portrait emerged of Omar Mateen, the man behind the violent rampage, hundreds of people attended a vigil on Monday night in downtown Orlando.

"Sometimes he would go over in the corner and sit and drink by himself, and other times he would get so drunk he was loud and belligerent," one clubgoer, Ty Smith, told the Orlando Sentinel , referring to the 29-year-old, who was killed when security forces stormed the nightclub.

This is so bizarre. I'd also like to stop being told that a drinking Muslim not observing Ramadan was "super religious".

You're worse than Obama when it comes to politicizing tragedy. Shut. The. ****. Up.

Politics have everything to do with this tragedy. Those crying about politicizing are those who try to control the narrative of a tragedy.

You're missing the point, and it's not a seamless comparison.

Religion is chosen-- homosexuality is believed to not be. Insisting that homosexuality is a choice is what made it a DSM-classified mental illness for so long, & why it's so stigmatized that ppl are mass-murdered as a result of it.

I actually didn't insinuate that it's a choice, you just chose to think I did.

Kinda bizarre to disagree with something that you can't choose. Do you disagree with those who itch their eyes?

I think he was a self-loathing closeted homosexual who probably wanted to be super religious but didn't have the strength or character to be anything more than a creep. And I'm sure Dad who up until Sunday morning was probably the craziest guy in the family didn't help either.
