What's new

General NFL 2010 Regular Season Thread

I'll got:

Ravens over the Chiefs
Jets over the Colts
Packers over the Eagles
Saints over the Seagulls (but Seattle keeps it within 10)

Don't forget the new overtime rule changes for the playoffs which partially removes the "sudden death" element.

They passed this early last year and haven't heard much about it since - this may take some people by surprise.

Both teams must have the opportunity to possess the ball once during the extra period, unless the team that receives the opening kickoff scores a touchdown on its initial possession, in which case it is the winner.

• If the team that possesses the ball first scores a field goal on its initial possession, the other team shall have the opportunity to possess the ball. If [that team] scores a touchdown on its possession, it is the winner. If the score is tied after [both teams have a] possession, the team next scoring by any method shall be the winner.

• If the score is tied at the end of a 15-minute overtime period, or if [the overtime period's] initial possession has not ended, another overtime period will begin, and play will continue until a score is made, regardless of how many 15-minute periods are necessary.

Lamest **** I've ever seen

Sucks to be a Carolina fan with the news that came out today. Andrew Luck announced he's staying at Stanford for 1 more year.

Andrew Luck is in danger of Matt-Leinerting his career. I don't see another 11-1 season out of Stanford. His stock could never be higher. Bad move IMO.

It has more to do with an impending work stoppage than trying to improve his draft stock.

I'm currently watching one of the greatest comebacks in NFL history on ESPN2. It's the Wild Card game from January 2003 between the Giants and 49ers. 49ers were down 38-14 with 4:27 left in the 3rd quarter, and came back to win. Just an amazing comeback. I miss that 49ers team. It was the last time the 49ers were any good.

Yeah, and I'm not in the know, but hearing the latest quotes from the Commish and the NFLPA it sounds like a work stoppage is likely avoided, albeit maybe at the last minute. Aside from Luck there really isn't that many standout QB's in this year's draft.
