George Hill is a G

Y'all keep saying he won't be here next year..
Well he better win us a damn ring this year because he's already made himself damn near retire his number" worthy in 4 games.

So does this mean Hill is a guard? I completely agree with that. Actually I think he is technically a PG.

Remember those who hated on the trade? RIP
We also have unlimited cash to pay him, got bird rights! Question is if management is from Scotland.
Let's also laugh at the Pacers who thought bringing another ball dominant perimeter player who plays no defense was a good idea.

Also worrying about his salary is super stupid IMO. He's listed 6'3, but he looks like 6'4-6'5 on the floor. He's got a really good jumpshot. Think of Chauncey Billups with defense and less creativity. Billups was a beast until he ruptured his achilles with 35 or 36.
60 for 3 or 72 for 4 is very reasonable IMO if he continues to play good this season.

I also don't think that the Jazz would've done the trade without being allowed to discuss the trade with Hill and his representatives in advance about willingness to stay and desired salary.
But if it comes down to salaries, management will look at Burks and Diaw first.
Burks has now suffered a major injury 3 years in a row and another team in the dumpster might be willing to take a chance on his health and give away assets and/or try to reduce their tax bill(we're 14 under the cap rn)
He's most likely to be dealt within the season if at all.
Diaw is a good trade chip in the offseason if he continues to underperform. If he's peak performance Diaw his salary for next year is a no brainer, if not he can still be dealt as it is completely nonguaranteed to someone trying to open capspace during free agency.
I just hope management is willing to approach the tax limit, can retain both Hayward and Hill, restructure Favors and open up extra capspace down the line during the real pretention/contention window.

Burks getting sent out might be a necessity if we want to keep him. Still, with big contracts coming for Favors, Hood, and Hayward (all near max - max level) it's hard to see us pull it off without going ***-deep in luxury tax.

I think this year is our year to do some playoff-damage because it's just hard seeing how we'll be able to keep the core with all of this depth afterwards. Our starting 1-5 has zero holes on both ends, and our bench is probably the league's best.

It's just a killer team built with tons of versatility. I'm really not scared of any teams this year. We just gotta stay healthy

Stay healthy?
How about GET healthy?

I'd rather have healthy Burks and backup Dwill than maxing George Hill @ 31.

Lots of question marks there.

We won't need to max Hill... next years free agency is not going to be nearly as crazy as this year's. Hill is more important than Burks at this point. He will level off. He likely gets 15-20 PER for 4 years or more on 2-3 year deal. I don't see the 4/100 deal for him. PG is extremely deep... I haven't looked around but I'd guess SA is going to be our biggest competition.

this year really is a good time to do some playoff damage while there's so many good contracts on the books
