Well done Cy.
So you wanna rail on Mormons who are the most generous people I have met for not having a homeless shelter or a bunch Catholic hospitals or whatever? Well, **** you.
LierJust being honest. The Church spent about a billion in charitable work over the last 30 years, 1.5 billion on a shopping mall downtown in a short time span, and rake in an estimated 7 billion per year in tithing alone. So I guess you can bask in the glow of perceived charity while someone is basking in a financial windfall by comparison. Go ahead and mention MJ users, if that justifies beefy clergy stipends for you.
Homeless people are not allowed to attend church with normal members, and are cordoned off to a special garage on Sundays located behind 4th Street Clinic downtown. They also are not given food orders because policy dictates that they must live in a residence to receive one. That's great that individuals contribute to help The Road Home, but that is not equivalent to what Jesus said at all. So don't pretend.
Creating jobs for people that were never homeless to begin with is also a complete non sequitur to this discussion. Work and means are Puritan/Protestant values that have nothing to do with anything Jesus actually said about helping the poor.
My condolences to you for the fact that Mormons are the most generous people that you have met. There is an entire world of generous people out there. My recommendation is to travel more.
So can we still anoint him a Saint (as long as it's not the Latter-Day kind)?Let's keep the Mormon/anti-Mormon discussion to the General Forum, please. This thread is about how awesome Hill is.
Your religion is essentially a red carpet layer for modern Babylon.
