Go GET Teague

I'm not writing off anyone but Burke, Booker/other bench player, and our slew of picks accumulated precisely for situations like this. Sorry, I want to win.

I want to win championships ;)

And I'm not sure if betting on a player who struggled with inconsistency and internal competition for his spot and got butthurt over it is the right move even if it's his contract year next year. Who says that he doesn't quit on the team as soon as he's put literally in the same position with Exum competing for minutes and Teague getting increasingly unsure if he wants to stay in Utah long term.

Burke/Booker are not the difference between contending and not.

Guys like Booker are. And I've said for a while that I don't think Burke is gonna be part of the future.
But since that trade would be a huge favor for Lindsey, I won't think about this topic until there's substantial rumours.

Getting Teague does not equate giving up on Exum. It means we have somebody who could help us win NOW and next year. He is a stopgap + an insurance policy.

ACL injuries take about 1-2 years for the player to come back fully healthy and playing at top level, Exum will need next year and the year after for that. Teague's contract will fit in nicely.

I think we at least owe it to Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Hood to get Teague and make a run at the playoffs this year and next while they are on the rise/peaking.
What in the hell do u think the Jazz bloody owe them!?!? The only thing the org owes them is what's guaranteed on their contracts. It's them that owe us and, they are paying that off now!! They are getting healthy and on a five game winning streak and figuring out how to win close games. Teague is not needed. They are learning with out him how to win, and win the close game finally. Now all that is needed is to have them and Exum learn to win together. Lol at Exum a 19-20 year old needing 2 years to recover. Give me a break OL. don't be a damned drama queen.
This all nothing more than wishful thinking and putting all your eggs into the Exum basket, which he has far from proved he's earned such respect. Exum has massive potential, and I want to see that developed. But I'm not willing to bet on a 2nd yr player, who showed low confidence offensively all year, but played great defense, coming off major injury. I would argue your glasses are jazz colored more so than mine, and it's not even a winning approach.

We have an opportunity here to improve the position we have the greatest uncertainty in with A FORMER ALLSTAR. As far as cost, it's well known and reported that the Jazz are one of the few teams with the need and assets to get a deal done. If Burke/Booker/pick is the best out there, which very well could be, it's all ATL has to work with and they pull the trigger. If you're willing to mortgage our future on a "glue guy" then whatever, good luck.

I already took Hood and Burks off the table, btw.

Damned straight I'm putting all my eggs in one basket. He's the key, and our best bet to title town even without him or Teague the Jazz are showing they will be very good
Yep.
Thee is way off on this one. Acting like acquiring teague means we give up on/don't care about exum is stupid
Not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is we risk messing up the rebuild which has been organized to perfection to this point. We've added ingredients, mixed put in a pan and and put in an oven. Te mix is beginning to rise. Now adding Teague is like taking the cake out and adding one more ingredient (Teague) causing an imbalance getting an uneven and weird looking baked cake.
Just to be clear. We are betting everything on the guy who averaged 4.8 points, 2.4 assists, 1.6 rebounds, and had a 5.70 PER. Not to mention .349/.314/.625 shooting splits

Yep. That raw 19 year old rookie that hadn't played in a year and deferred to more seasoned pros while he learned then we saw him take the lead in summer league. Each player is different and develops at different rates. He will get better year by year.

You probably thought this was some awesome analogy. But the Jazz aren't a ****ing cake. How about instead you just explain how a very good PG who was an all star last year could come onto our team which has some of the worst PG play in the league, and he'd be a detriment to our success.

If someone is actually advocating that we are better off going into next year with Exum/Neto/Burke than with Teague/Exum/Neto how is that person even worth arguing with? It is honestly one of the most stupid arguments I can think of in a long history of terrible arguments on this board.

Not to mention Teague could totally spark us the second half of the season and give us a chance to do some damage in the playoffs.

No, they're not. But whatever. Dude, this rumor is lighting up the interwebs! Wtf

We have another case of "I can only remember last few games" in this thread. Booker couldn't hit a layup for about half a season. He was a complete liability whenever he entered the game. Just because he's had a few decent games recently doesn't make him integral to the team.

This. Those opposed are blowing my mind.

Booker's attitude and energy are more valuable than his actual play. Thankfully, he helped set the tone for the team during the Kanter mess. Since then, we've seen a noticeable increase in attitude from Gobert (who was always feisty), Favors and Hayward. Lyles, Burks, Hood, Exum and Neto are all pretty chill guys, but I think the confidence of the big three infects them as well.

Because. Exum is the crowning jewel of this rebuild. By adding Teague u run the risk of ruining Exum. Taking years of contention off of this rebuild which has been taking place since Williams was traded. Maybe he doesn't build those leadership qualities like he should've and is only a good not great because of it. Most important... Hayward and the rest of the team have built a relationship with Exum and maybe believe in him where as Teague is a hired gun and quite frankly not as good as u think he is. This is pure speculation, but maybe Hayward leaves because the Jazz traded for Teague and didn't show faith in Exum. This is just like u speculating that Hayward is going to leave if we don't get Teague. Another point is that Hayward knows they are in a rebuild, but he and others on the team have said and recognize they feel they are a part of something that they think will be special, and they want to see this through. We've already seen evidence of this.

Both Favors and Burks signed team friendly deals. Burks excepted a bench role and to my knowledge hasn't complained. There is amazing chemistry on this roster. I wouldn't be so eager to speculate that we can't keep Hayward.
