Go GET Teague

Burke is better, but Mack was fine backing up Teague for 20 minutes per game two seasons ago. Atlanta isn't going to dump Teague for a small upgrade at the backup 1. Makes no sense.

What do you think of Burks + picks?

That at least makes some sense for Atlanta. Makes sense for the Jazz if they think they can extend or re-sign Teague -- I'd want to talk to Teague's agent first. Probably means Burke needs to be shopped in the offseason (if not sooner).

No. I'd rather keep Burks. As has been already stated Burks has more value. Also we still need a 3rd wing and I'm not comfortable with Jingles being that guy. If we trade Burks it better be for a shooter.

1. So Atlanta trades Teague for a downgrade at the 1 and a **** pick or two? Not happening. The only way the Jazz send out Burke and garbage picks for Teague is if there's a third team involved.

2. Mack is a career 32% shooter from 3. Burke is a career 33% shooter from 3. I know you love small samples, but this is ****ing ridiculous.

3. I wasn't responding to you. Several people have suggested trading Burke and a late 1st or some 2nds for Teague. If those are the best offers Atlanta receives, they might as well wait until the offseason, and try again.

I think Atlanta is prepared to get a downgrade at the 1. The point is to make Schroeder the starter, so they dont want to bring in a player who is going to demand starter minutes at the 1.

I fully believe Atlanta would take Burke + our pick if it was unprotected.

I think PG is our greatest need. I'm not sure if I want to give up Burks. But I don't find the contract or the wing arguments convincing.

I don't find Teague convincing. I'd rather wait it out. We can find a better longterm fit imo.

Also Atlanta has been fielding calls for Horford... seems like they're trying to reset/reload a bit. They would WANT that GSW unprotected pick especially as it's for 2017 which I'm told is a LOADED year talent wise.

Exum is the long term answer at PG. If we trade for Teague, he will obviously start this year and next year, but he's the back up in terms of future plans. The question then becomes how much we will have to pay Teague (if he would even re-sign), and whether it's overpaying for a bench player. Unless Exum and Teague can play together at times--then it becomes less of an issue.

Gun to your head who would you choose? Teague VS Exum?

Teague is a proven player who is right at the top of his prime that can be had right now due to some pretty favourable circumstance for us. Exum on the other hand is coming back from injury, still unproven except for his defensive ability. He is still trying to learn the game and there is still a question mark over his shot. We CAN still bring him along slowly.

I would have to go with Teague at this point. He is more at the level of Favors, Gobert, Hood and Hayward, a group that is ready to go RIGHT NOW. At some point we have to say WE ARE READY TO GO NOW and just pull the trigger instead of being in a perpetual rebuilding mode.

Yeah, they're obviously expecting to downgrade overall at the 1. Presumably, they'll want an upgrade somewhere else. I don't think a slight upgrade at the backup 1, and a pick at the end of the first round or in the second round makes any sense. For the Jazz pick, maybe.

Exum.

I dunno, what's the stats on guard/wing players coming back from an ACL and being GREAT? Off the top of my head Rubio, Jabari Parker, both of whom haven't looked all that great so far after their injuries. This is something we have to consider also...

Teague also serves as a backup plan in case Exum doesn't pan out.
