Gobert--when can we extend him?

Yeah that's the closest Chuck Norris will ever get to him. Rudy Gobert doesn't do pushups, he pushes Earth down. Thriller change your avatar if you don't wanna look like a LOSER!

For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. So you are exactly right. :p

But like sgjazzfan said, the jazz could just let him enter free agency and butt have anything to lose right? (He would be restricted I think)

Yeah, but what is the point. By the end of next year Rudy will likely be an allstar and doing things no one else in the league can do. Add in that only about three players from his draft are worth a darn, and he will get a max offer from someone. That 5th year will be handy to have, and it will be Gobert's team. Why would you screw with that even a little? Especially since we aren't talking Carmello or Kobe max. . . That is why the 5th year is important. The worst thing that could happen other than Gobert taking the qualifying and becoming unrestricted would be a three year contract that we match and he gets an unrestricted payday after 3 years. To much risk there not to just give him a straight 5 years (if he will take it.) Also, there may be a chance to keep him out of the all star game before he reups which would keep the max a bit lower, I believe. . .

Thank God he's a 1st round pick.

Can you imagine if he was picked in the 2nd round, becoming a UFA after his contract ended? I'd die.

Except that a 2nd year player can only make a max of 8 million dollars a year (or something like that).

Uh...he'd still be an RFA.

Sent from the JazzFanz app

Would he? I thought 2nd round picks become UFAs when their contract ends

Dalabro knows very little on the CBA

Dalashame

I've never proclaimed myself as a CBA expert, and I don't intend to anytime in the near future. Nice having GVC around for dis stuff, & Core4 to a lesser extent
