What's new

Golden State Whoriors at Utah Jazz: 7pm MT

The Jazz should have put both Foye and Burks in with either Hayward or Carroll to attack the zone. Our PGs couldn't drive and couldn't shoot against the zone, so we got completely derailed. We should have tried to speed up the game with defensive intensity so the Ws wouldn't be able to get set in their zone. Easier said than done, but we didn't even try it seemed.

I feel bad for Ty. I don't like watching people fail, except for LeBron, Wade, Mark Jackson and Torrey Elllis a little bit.

Jerry Sloan used to talk about not embarrassing guys. He didn't want one of his players to get beaten by the opposition repeatedly on either end of the floor. If a player was overmatched, he would switch match-ups and then most times he would let his guy play until he made a good play...a made basket, an assist or defended a play well. Then the guy would come out. I really respected that about Sloan. I kind of wish Jerry could switch Ty's match-up right now.

Why is Carroll al of a sudden playing garbage time and not significant minutes, Burks shouldnt be taking his minutes, burks should be tacking foyes and Marvins minutes.

agree.. foye is great if he's draining 3s. been cold lately.

big fan of carroll, lots of hustle. he must be so annoying to whoever he is guarding, he's like a fly just never leaves you alone.

more burks please!

No execution, no identity, no flow, and very difficult shots.

It has been this way for the entire coaching tenure of Ty Corbin. This game is merely another in the gigantic and ever growing library of Ty Corbin coaching disasters. If we don't score in the fast break or a midrange jumper from Paul/Big Al, we typically don't score. Very rarely do we just explode with great execution, strategy, and with guys fulfilling their roles. Everything feels so forced so unnatural.

The opposite of what we knew of "Jazz Basketball."

We're quickly becoming a team like the Wizards and Kings, merely relying on our players to "out-athleticize" opponents rather than out-execute them. And... As you can see, that doesn't mean very good things for us. We're getting blown out by a 6-9 seed WC team at home. At this point, we can't beat the best teams in the league, are getting blown out by the avg teams (Indiana and Golden State), and probably would struggle against even the worst teams.

It's all coming to a head.

This team is quickly quitting on Corbin. They know he has no plan. They know he isn't capable. A change is necessary. The only question is, how long will we prolong this change?

Maybe we are just not that good? I doubt it is all on Corbin. We have no superstar or all-star talent on this team. Detroit 2004 model is not going to work with this bunch of players due to lack of intimidating defensive force inside aka B.Wallace.

Well that was beyond pathetic.

Frankly only Al had a semi decent game when it counted, and Sap to a tiny bit of a lesser degree. Everyone else sucked.

And I was dead wrong when I said this team may not need another PG to replace Mo. They need one in the worst way.

If if Ty has any balls whatsoever Marvin just played his way deep into the bench today. Of course that won't be the case, sigh.

CNN SI's twitter page just had a headline with a link that read: "Mo Williams' injury force Jazz to make trade". I couldn't believe it, I was so curious to see what we did. When I clicked the link, it was just an opinion piece saying the Jazz should make a trade immediately, merely a $#*@ or get off the pot suggestion. I can't believe they'd write a terrible headline like that with a joke of an article to boot.

Zero points, 5 missed shots and 7 turnovers from the PG position, but ppl blame this loss on Al & Ty?

Ty is pretty rigid with his substitution patterns. It's like he's being pushed around by the players and their expectations for minutes instead of making adjustments. Putting Carroll and Burks in would have increased the defensive intensity where Foye and Marvin were slacking. Playing Foye instead of Tinsley to attack the zone along with Burks or Hayward would have been a good move. Favors could have punished Carl Landry in the low post instead of having Favors receive the ball 15 feet out on the floor. We weren't taking advantage of our strengths or matching their coaching moves.

As for a trade. No one should be untouchable

Our coaches are not developing our youth

None of them are all stars but they should all be better than they are

I would trade Hayward because I think he does not fit our system and will draw a better trade

WTF we have no all-star talent ? Kanter ? Favors ? We have two of the most talented bigs on the NBA, but we are not using them how they deserve.
