Good season. Disappointing end

Jazz are to me one of the best, if not THE best bounce back team in the league this season. You know these guys want to win, this isn't the days of AK47 crying on the sidelines. Our guys want to advance just as bad as we want them to advance. They had an off night and still nearly won the game. Raise that percentage up 5% and all of a sudden we advance to the 2nd round.

I am not giving up on the team on game 7 but.... I am really disappointed that the team didn't respond at home in a rocking arena after an extra day of rest and played the way they did. I thought we were more mentally tough than that.

Ray Allen could draw fouls and get to the rim.

This is true. Ray Allen, particularly during the first half of his career, was not just a deadly outside shooter. When comparing him to Hood, Allen's FG% for his first three years was .436, while Hood's is .415. Allen ended with a .452 career average, which is quite good when one considers how many 3pt shots (and jump shots generally) he took. Hood can and almost certainly will improve, but we'll be lucky if he's 2/3 the player Ray Allen was. Setting all that aside, Hood has been terrible this series, especially the last game. Brick after brick. He's shooting .344 this series, including 2/7 (can't recall him hitting two shots, but obviously he did). He hit some big threes in game 2, I believe, but even in that game, he was 6/17. He was almost as bad in game three 6/16.

In fairness to Hood though, Ingles has been shooting poorly too (although otherwise, he has played well and has brought other aspects to the series that Hood has not). The whole team stank in the last game.

Really? Well then my memory betrays me because I don't remember him as a driver but more as a shooter. That being said, players games evolve and I dont think Hood is any different in that regard. The problem is that I think as fans our patience is the first thing we lose.

There is something very odd to his driving style. He doesnt seem to be able to get much of any explosion off of 1 foot, so he compensates by stopping short of the rim to rise into a shot instead of going all the way and drawing contact. Hood's game is very anti-contac.

Weird thing is, Hood is special in his ability to get in the lane and get his shot. He COULD do what JJ does if he developed his game. The thing that kills me with Hood, is he can get those 3-8 footers over an opponent, yet miss the hoop by a foot. It's unbelievable how far he misses close shots when he's off. By comparison, you and other's trash Dante for his 3 point shooting %, but Dante almost NEVER misses 3 pointers by as much as Hood misses 6 footers.

I don't know if it's choke-itis, but my faith in Hood is that he's a good trade piece.

As for Hood his injuries and inconsistencies have me looking elsewhere for someone to replace him in our teams future plans, but hey I hope he proves me wrong

His first two seasons he showed a lot of promise so I'm not willing to give up on him yet, even though he took a step back this year for whatever reason

But I'm not against benching him if he starts off struggling in game 7, he's had a really rough go this series
