Greetings from a new Jazz fan from Atlanta.

LOL. There are some very funny posts in this thread. OK, as far as my lil' cuz, is concerned: Don't be alarmed that he came from a small school. He could have actually gone to one of the big schools. Personally, I told him that he should have. However, I understand why he didn't. His grades were shaky, and the big schools backed off of him, because they didn't know if he would qualify. To backtrack a little bit, my cuz could have gone to one of the major high schools in Atlanta where they really scout basketball talent, but his father didn't allow it. The coach there kept asking about him, because his older sister went to that high school. It's a "magnet school" and the coach would have gotten into one of the programs. His father (my uncle) said that he didn't have the grades to get into the magnet program. The coach said that he would have "fixed it" so that Kevin could go to the school. Well, my uncle still didn't bite. After Kevin played against that magnet school and killed them single-handedly, the coach cursed my uncle out and was furious that he didn't let Kevin go to the school. LOL. The next game they played against that school, Kevin was triple-teamed. Anyway, back on course now. The big schools backed off of him because they didn't know if he would qualify. Tennessee Tech came and they stuck with him for a couple of years. They even invited him to their campus and let him take summer courses there and they helped him get his grades up. After everyone realized that Kevin would qualify, the big schools came calling at the last minute. However, his father told him to show some loyalty, since Tennessee Tech had stuck with him for all of that time, and that's how Kevin ended up going to a smaller school, even though bigger schools wanted him. On one hand, my uncle said that he has some regret that he didn't go ahead and let Kevin go to a bigger high school and go to a big college. On the other hand, he's glad that he didn't go the other route. I was talking to him, and I said that if he would have gone the other route where Kevin was given everything and didn't have to earn his own way, that might have ruined him as a person. We see far too many spoiled athletes that didn't have to work for anything and had things handed to them that they didn't earn. I mean, it would have been nice to have Kevin get more exposure, and possibly be drafted in the first round, but things seem to be working out pretty OK now anyway.

I'll post more later, but I need to go right now. Sorry if I confused anyone or if it sounds as if I'm rambling. I'm rushing this morning.

Well, if you're going to get drafted in the second round, getting drafted by the Jazz is certainly the way to go! I don't know of a team that has a larger percentage of second round picks actually make the roster.
 
Well I give people the be benefit of the doubt. I will believe who you say you are until you prove otherwise welcome to the board.

Personally I am hoping Murphy gives us something like Kevin Martin. I think their games are very similar. Hoping for a better defender though.
 
Nice to hear some background on Murphy, and that he is loyal. That is a good sign. Also, thank you for your honestly with your cousin's grades. Sounds like he turned it around with the help of T Tech.

Now onto the juicy stuff.

What were your thoughts of the Jazz before all of this?
Did you think AK was a skinny weird looking freak?
Had you ever read Jazzfanz before?
Did you enjoy the Hawks 4OT win against us last year?
Which player are you most excited for your cousin to play with?
Which Jazz player do you know the most about, and who are some players you know nothing about?
Are you prepared for all the crazy stuff that gets said on message boards. "murphy sucks", "trade murphy", "free murphy", "murphy is baby jordan", "kevin is in corbin's dog house", "kevin is my cousin". I hope you are pre-pared for all the madness, and fun that awaits. I can only imagine what it's like to have a family member play in the NBA.
Do you have league pass?
Will you watch most or all Jazz games?
If so we hope to see you in chat.

BluesRocker warned you about some of the #$%@# on the board but we forgot to mention the moderators. Most are drunk with their own power. If you haven't recieved a warning within about a week of joining, you're probably just not trying hard enough.
 
welcome to the Forum I am fired up with the pick and Think Murph can find a spot on the Jazz and be a killer off the Bench. Do you think Marvin Williams is good or Was he just a bad draftpick at the 2

I am honored to have made this list, although the only people I am a dick to are blues, northeast, and saltair. And those three are moronic *** hats.
