Gun control myths and info

Genius. Stopping them beforehand for what exactly? Being black. Is this Minority Report? No pun intended.

It means arresting people who don't pray to the Christian god and sending those who play video games to the electric chair? I dunno.

This type of propaganda works for morons who think a knife is in any way equivalent to a magazine-fed, semi-automatic assault rifle. Anyone who thinks this represents any kind serious commentary on gun control is, well, Heathme-like.

BTW, criminals ARE the problem, no one disputes this despite RW propaganda to the contrary, but this problem is greatly exacerbated at the margin by the easy accessibility to firearms. This argument reminds me of the sophistic arguments made by Tea Baggers back in the day that deficits were solely a matter of spending, completely discounting the revenue side as if it were totally irrelevant (hint: it isn't). Now, we have the gun rights fanatics making a similar type of sophistic argument that gun violence is solely a matter of crime and criminals, completely discounting the easy accessibility of guns as a both a contributor to crime and a factor making crimes that are committed more violent and more deadly. This type of argument may get one likes and retweets among one's gun fanatic peers, but it is a much less satisfying rhetorical gambit for serious thinking people.

Other countries have criminals (also mentally ill, irreligious, believers in evolution, gamers, etc.) at a more or less similar rate as the US; what they don't have is easy accessibility to firearms. Hence, their crimes (committed by criminals) are far less violent and deadly than the crimes committed by criminals here. Plus, they tend not to have youth who go around killing people using magazine-fed assault rifles-that's pretty much a uniquely US trait, again abetted by easy accessibility to firearms.
