What's new

Guys, calm your tots right quick.

Yeah that's a great way to prove it. Did I ever say anything about refs being bought off? It was his choice to do that, not the NBA's.
The NBA told him to fix games. And he had proof. He went to prison for coming clean.

I don't believe they told him specifically to fix games but there were some general statements from the NBA passed to refs to go easy on certain players and teams. However, he cast suspicion on certain refs like Dick Bavetta, the guy who ignored the MJ push off of BRuss, as being complicit with the NBA in fixing games. There were a number of other games he pointed out and a few other refs that made suspicious calls or no-calls.

People always cast aspersions on the guy because he did illegal things and the NBA came down hard on him for that as a way to deflect any scrutiny of their guilt. However, I don't think any prosecutors wanted or want to go after David Stern. He is too popular and the scandal would ruin the NBA and cost it billions of dollars.

I'm not generally a conspiracy theorist but several teams have had suspicious outcomes over the many years of the lottery. Call it kismet if you like; I call it suspicious, even though there is apparently NO way the lottery can be "fixed."

Then why do they not let the public see the ping pong balls being pulled out? How is that transparent?

They do. Video from the last draft or two has been posted here at least twice. It's also dry as dust, which is why they don't air it on live TV.

If you honestly don't believe the NBA is rigged I feel sorry for you. Google Tim Donaghy

I feel sorry for you. Wasting all this time and energy on something that you "know" to be rigged. Grats.

I think they could make that a lot more interesting than the current lottery. Have the numbers pop up, show which teams are eliminated from the first ping pong ball, which teams are still alive, do the second, show which teams, etc, do the third one and before the fourth ball pops up, show what number the remaining teams would need to win.

Lots of drama. x3.
