I’ll tell you a funny story about that. So as I mentioned, I was on my mission during that draft. I had been out about 4-5 months and was with my second companion. He had a couple months or so left before he was going home. He kept telling me about this girl he really liked and he was wanting to date. I was disappointed with the draft (because I had no clue who those guys were we drafted, why we traded Pavel Podkolzine, and WTF we let Pavlovic go in the expansion draft). So at the same time, he finds out that this girl he likes is actually getting married to the Nevada basketball player. He’s pissed because he thought he was going to go home and date her, now she’s engaged to a guy headed to the NBA. I’m pissed because, well, the Jazz got KOCed. Eventually we realize that the source of both our frustrations coincide with Kirk Snyder. He didn’t find that very amusing because he thought his frustration was more legitimate than mine.
 
I was pretty hyped about Anthony Bennett at one point. I was thinking at worst a Zach Randolph type. I didnt think he'd go #1 overall, that was a shock to say the least.

Elie Okobo too... though there’s still time but doesn’t look great.
 
I loved Skal... and Exum... and DSJ... Elie Okobo... and Fultz... but that last one is a weird one. I'd give myself a pass on it.

I didn't love TJ Warren and he's turned into a good player. Never expected Pascal Siakam to become what he's become.

It seems like I have more misses on players I loved than on players I didn't like. Or at least I remember more the ones I loved and didn't pan out.

Dante Exum - our highest pick ever and I thought he was going to go to Orlando and I was Jazzed when we got him.

CJ Miles - the last year for high schoolers. He looked like a smooth shooting, 6'7" complete package. He wasn't.

I definitely drank the Saer Sene punch. It tastes like pee now.

I threw a party when Millsap was drafted though. Got that one right.
 
Two guys l completely flip flopped on and turned out to be completely wrong - Alec Burks and Klay Thompson.

I did not like Burks at all coming into the draft - wanted Klay Thompson. Then when they got in league l thought Burks could be a star and Thompson looked like an overwhelmed chucker. Oh well....

Just as well- if The Jazz drafted Thompson Corbin would have just sat on the bench his first two years behind Josh Howard and Raja Bell.
 
For some reason, I thought Cole Aldrich was gonna be good. 8 year career averaging 3ppg and 3.4rpg says otherwise.

I thought Thabeet was going to be good too. After that draft, I have focused all my draft love on athletic guys like Kawhi and Stanley Johnson with extremely mixed results.
