"that" only means that Kanter scores and rebounds on a better rate than Favors!
so Favors has to block more? Sure! But his rebounding could be better as well.
As regards Kanter, he is already a better rebounder and scorer than Favors, given the minutes and touches!

I agree with you but he will be better, I guess.
All in all, Jazz have a duo of young good bigs, each with huge potential.
Let's cherish this, shall we?

yup, he does. His stats are atrocious (sic.).
He had actually started the season very well.

Definitely man I love those numbers. You know, in a team which has multiple stars or star potential players, it's very difficult for either of them to stay consistent on their numbers night in night out so I think the guys are alright on their way to make Utah a great team in the near future.

More accurately, we have a "Core 3" which includes Favors, Burke, and the lottery pick. That's not a value assessment of the players, it's pure salary practicality. Burke and the lottery pick can play alongside Favors at an extremely cheap price with maximum cap flexibility. Imagine having a true "Core 3" that only accounted for roughly 20 million in payroll for the next 3-4 seasons.

Hayward, Burks, and Kanter are all assets to bolster that 3. The conventional angle would be to overpay Hayward and create a Core 4 with little hope of keeping both Kanter and Burks, but eventually flipping them for future assets. The other, and in my opinion better, route to take would be to shop Hayward and spend another year evaluating Burks and Kanter before their RFA seasons.

I don't see Burke as a "top-10" PG. If he is, he's definitely on the fringe of that range. No one is untouchable, although Favors is now locked up. As for Hayward, I have mixed feelings. Every season he has started slowly and then caught fire from January forward.

Jazz made the mistake of overpaying for a SF in AK47, but I think/hope Hayward is different. He'll come cheaper than AK since there is a limit on how much the Jazz would need to pay: even "MAX" (and I'm not saying pay him that much!) would still be cheaper than AK. Also, isn't another team restricted to offering one less season than what the Jazz could? Even having Favors and Hayward at $23-$24M combined would NOT preclude the team from giving contracts to Burks, Kanter and then Burke. They'll be over the cap in future seasons, but can still stay under the luxury tax limit. And some of those contracts will be expiring just as this year's picks come off their rookie deals. That's the time the Jazz will have to look at their "Core5 + the two #1's this season + Gobert and decide who goes/who stays.
 
If I were a betting man, I'd guess the Jazz will stay with Burks and Kanter coming off the bench. Both can still get 30 mins if there is just a 3-man rotation at the bigs and wings. Jefferson will be heavily shopped and I'm sure Lindsey has made it known Williams, Rush and Biedrins are available as well, ether as players, or in Andris' case, as an expiring contract.

There's not quite as much room as last season to take on contracts, but Lindsey could still play around with $15M or so. Trade Biedrins for a player with 2 years left on his contract, for example. Unless there is an unbelievable offer, I think the "Core5" will remain wth the Jazz for another year at least. Or at least until Utah sees who they draft. Get Embiid and maybe Kanter is then expendable. Get another SG and Hayward or Burks needs to go.

I don't doubt that. But so will other PG's and new PG's will enter the league, some as very high picks,replacing the old guys like Nash, Parker, etc. My point is Burke has good skills, but he's just not elite at any level. He has average speed, average or slightly below height, and is not a very good shooter (< 40% FG's).

I'm not down on Burke, he's just not a guy who will ever be a dominant PG. He'll be a supporting player. But there's nothing wrong with that. Improve his efficiency and average 13-14 pts with 7 assists: that may be all Utah needs if Lindsey can bring in some upgrades around him.

Kanter and Favors just need to figure out what to do when both of them are on the court. Obviously, the coaches can help with this too. Whichever one doesn't run the pick-and-roll with Burke always seems a little hesitant.

it worked really well against the Spurs. They were +20 or something like that together. I think Burke is the difference maker. What was interesting, is that the offense worked with Burks in the lineup with both Favors and Kanter together --which is new to have it be succesful all together. Now they need to try it with Hayward. Next couple of games are great matchups to do Favors and Kanter together.
