Hayward signing outright (reported rumor)

ABBA made a song many years ago that describes pretty much exactly the situation we find ourselves in with regard to the Celtics and Hayward leaving. You'll have to use you imagination a little, like when she says "building me a fence" you'll have to understand that means Utah Jazz defense. She says "building me a home" that's the Vivint Smart Home Arena. Stuff like that. When she says "Does she kiss you like I used to kiss you?" she's actually talking about Quin vs Stevens. So yeah, you've got to be engaged and Make the proper adjustments, but if you do that you'll see that ABBA prophesied this situation many years ago, because ABBA is supernatural.

See what I'm talking about? They called it. Celtics took it all. Jazz are standing small. Jazz played by the rules. Jazz are losing someone dear. You get it.

I'd be curious if you still took your stance understanding a TPE. They aren't given. It's just simply when you have a deal that a team takes back significantly less salary, they get an exception for the size of that salary to use in trades. Ainge gives up nothing and collects a second round pick.

It's still an asset by definition. Ainge didn't want to give it up for a 2nd rounder. I'm cool with that. That's his choice. They have a **** ton of draft picks anyways.

ABBA Should just rename the song "The Celtics Take it All"

Different video.

I'm gonna keep going with this. This **** is perfect. You'll all have to acknowledge it.

Is it valuable to somebody else? Yes. So it's an asset.

It's not his to "give up." At best, he can prevent someone from acquiring an asset. But, to do that, he'd have to forfeit his own acquisition of an asset (a second round pick). Literally the only reason not to do this is to be a straight up douche. The odds of it biting him in the *** would be somewhere in the ballpark of less than 1%.

Wait, because I'm pissed that Lindsey has done a piss poor job, I don't like the Jazz? Ummm....ok.
You rarely seem to like the jazz

Fwiw it seems like Hayward has still not signed. At least it hasn't been reported if he has. So I'm still hopeful that they are working out something like this.

We can only hope.

I think Morris has to pass his physical and all that worked out with the Bradley trade.

Again. I like the Jazz. I don't like ownership or Lindsey. They are both poor.

I'll give you the KOC and Greg Miller combos left a lot to be desired, but who would you rate above them as presently constituted? Do you feel they're below average?

Owners all suck. Greg Miller did some poor things for the Jazz in the name of profitability and trying to keep his race track afloat.

KOC wasn't bad. He drafted DWill and Hayward. He signed Memo and Boozer. He got us to the WCF's.

Corbin is on Greg. He didn't want to pay for a new coach. Same with not tanking two years earlier. He wanted to make the playoffs as much as possible before Millsap and Al left...all in the name of making more money.

Lindsey...Gobert was great. Everything has been poor. He lost our most accomplished player. He has drafted poorly outside of Gobert. No big trades.

KOC traded for DWill. He signed Boozer and Memo.

Lindsey has no big trades. No franchise changing lottery picks. No FA signings.

Maybe all this changes this year. Maybe Exum steps up, Mitchell is a long time starter, Hood becomes an All Star and we trade/sign another piece.

Maybe we miss the playoffs and in two years there are rumors that Gobert wants out, ala Hayward last summer.

Yet Dennis Lindseys team last year was just as good as any team the Jazz have had since Stockton/Malone, even with some of the worst injury luck in the NBA.

You don't seem to like the organization or the players. So what is it you like? The word "Jazz"?

You're comparing KOC's ~13-14 year stint with us to Lindsey's 4 (he's really only been in charge for 3). There were plenty of things that KOC did that were good moves that I think he didn't get appreciated for. Boozer and Memo was a good summer. I think the most under appreciated move was trading for Fisher, despite how it ended. Giricek for Korver was great despite Sloan's inability to maximize that. Despite this, I wasn't much a fan of his management style and there were plenty of blunders. The combination of him and Greg was awful and came to a head with Jerry quitting. I'm absolutely baffled how anyone could not see how much better off we currently are with DL at the helm. Props to KOC for bringing him in -- another solid move.

Tl;dr you're comparing KOCs >decade run with Lindsey's three years and your references are "no franchise changing lottery picks" (I suppose you conveniently can't count Gobert since he wasn't lottery -- then dismiss Hood), and no big trades.

It may be interesting to pull some of your old quotes about KOC because, just like the Hayward 25 ppg thing, I'm assuming your memory on your KOC opinions is a little fuzzy.
