What's new

He must workout!

oh man... i live in switzerland and i'm studying law at the university of zurich. the same university where kanter's dad became a doctor. to go on with, kanter was born in zurich as well. my girlfriend is turkish and i have many friends coming from turkey. there are also many turkish people here over here...

but i'm sorry that i'm not turkish and i don't care about the turkish national basketball team. well tried...
Interesting. I didn't know all of that info on Enes and his family. So perhaps he feels more Swiss-American than Turkish and doesn't give a %$#@ about playing for the Turkish national team.

you know, i have arabian origin and once stayed for about three months in istanbul. i was impressed by the city and the country. really an amazing experience!

as soon as i went back to switzerland, some turkish friends of mine talked about enes kanter and that he would have the potential to become one of the best foreign born players ever heading to the nba (switzerland is the country where i was born and grew up and i'm still living here).

i kind of started to care more about enes kanter and his story and even about the turkish basketball team. for sure my girlfriend was a reason as well since she likes basketball like me. i have grown up watching international basketball and the nba and i do have a special connection to turkey like some of you guys have to other countries as well...

some friends of mine said that it might have something to do with the current coach of the turkish national team. he once was the coach of that turkish team that made kanter ineligible to play at the college level for the wildcats for being professional and receiving more money as allowed.

to go on with, i do think that he might have some personal issues with some people within the organization of the turkish national team that where criticizing his decision going overseas and the guy who said kanter would not be ready and kind of was criticizing his game and his development.

kanter is a winner, a fighter, a hardworker! i do think that he wanted the offseason to improve his game and maybe did not want to return to the turkish national team before he was not 100 percent ready. i do think that for him, it is more important to improve than helping his national team. he only can help when he feels he is really ready to dominate. he wants to go back as an improved player and maybe thought that playing for the national team would not help him as much as working out in the states. i mean, the czech republic, portugal, italy and belarus are not really a great combination of teams to improve his game. maybe he rates his workouts as a more important thing than playing against bad competition as well. turkey is a crap of a team without their stars and good players à la turkoglu, asik and ilyasova.

well, to improve his game he must play and that was a good opportunity

true... but the chemistry over there is important!

as i mentioned before, he might not want to play for the same coach who once was the coach of that turkish team which made kanter ineligible to play at the college level.

he might have some personal isssues within the office of the national turkish basketball team.

i do think that's the main reason and no one talks about it. there are some unknown issues. i don't believe that kanter would really refuse to play for his national team without having a real, strong reason.

I'm kind of digging that artwork in the background if I'm seeing it correctly. Like a face/angel or something? I don't know what the hell they call those 2 in 1 pics, but it looks kind of cool.

That's the basketball god blessing Kanter. At worst, Kanter can be our Karl Malone, minus the skills....

The sad thing when I see Kanter that ripped and toned all I think about is

The original pic had his shorts riding up a little more to show his quads, but they had to delete those because his massive dick was showing.

I'm trying to figure out what it means. There is only two legitimate answers to this question. First, Cy has a serious man crush on Rafael Araujo. Second, Cy is hint dropping to all of us that he is coming out of the closet.

not all playing necessarily helps you improve. when i played school ball our coach wouldn't let us play pick-up games because he didn't want us getting out of the good habits we were picking up in practice and reverting back to junk ball.

i'm not necessarily equating the turkish national team with the prospect of me getting together with some buddies at a church gym... but the fact that this coach has publicly railed against kanter's game/development and said he felt like he should focus on his outside game, it sounds to me like playing over there might take him off the development path that people here are trying to create for him.

plus, that national team organization has been a mess for years, so i can't blame kanter for wanting to skip that and instead work at P3, where he's working on stuff he really needs (explosiveness, balance, playing bigger, etc.).

You can't be straight and give props to an impressive salami anymore?

I still believe a summer with Turkish NT was a golden chance for Kanter. The team will be played almost 20 games including the prep games, after the qualification tournament ends. Some people may say the competition is weak etc but I think it makes it better because Kanter was gonna be the focal point of the team and he could gain a nice game-feel and game-confidence in those games.

And don't forget the actual things which happened. It's not like Kanter had big problems with some people from the Turkish NT side. He promised to come to the team, everyone made their schedules and he ditched the team at last possible day without giving a single reason, he didn't even answered the phones.

And shots at Tanjevic again? The guy has important contributions in Kanter's development.

Not as weak as it looks. Turkey already lost second game, this time to Czech Republic 82-64, they barely beat Belarus by 3 pts at home and are at danger of not qualifying for Eurobasket. I just can't imagine what will happen if Turkey fails... everybody there will be looking for scapegoat and Enes might be the one.

Could be. I won't do that but many people will think like that. And yes, the competition is way better than most of people would think. Our NT suck too though, but it doesn't mean there isn't a decent competition.

I'm about to sound gay.

Dudes body looks great. I wouldn't have guessed he is that ripped. Is that just because of this off-season or is that how he has always been? if so, then why the hell can't he jump? I have always thought he would be a little pudgy and not so ripped. What the hell is going on? Dude is on roids.
