Head Coach Jerry Sloan to resign today :(

I'm not sure AK was in the meeting. The meeting was still going on while AK was being interviewed in the locker room post game. Sloan was in there for 45 minutes, but AK was interviewed about 20 minutes after the game. It sounds like AK went into the coaches area AFTER the interview and AFTER the initial Sloan/KOC meeting.

I sat roughly 25 feet from Deron as he overhand fired a ball at Haywards head, not as a pass but out of frustration and to dress down a rookie. It was a frustrating game in which Deron didn't play all that well but made it worse by doing that.

Listen, I love Deron.......guy is a beast but this season has shown some things about his personality that aren't conducive to leadership in the locker room. Again, this is all my opinion but I don't think I'm going too far out on a limb here.

I agree... Williams is young and Sloan isn't. The franchise needs to go on after Sloan is done and right now the only way to make that happen is to ride D-Will. Still sad to see it go down like this.

Another issue with this team has to be that Sloan is an old school coach in a new school world. Players today are superstars before they leave high school. The game has passed Jerry by.
 
during the two Rose FTs last night, they showed Sloan on the bench drawing up a play on the clipboard. maybe Deron just chucked Sloan's play, and that was the last straw?
 
Sloan needed to go after the Jazz were swept in 08-09 by the Lakers.

Any other franchise wouldve fired him after a few years of showing no improvement. He was kept onboard out of loyalty, but as you can see loyalty doesnt mean that much in sports when you arent producing results.

Its a great move and shows that the Jazz Organization is finally wanting to start a new era and achieve something they couldnt for the last 23 years with Sloan.


Dont get me wrong Sloan is one of the greatest coaches of all time, but every coach loses something. Hence why there are so many coaching changes. Jerry Lost is after 07-08
 
Amazing. Sloan was the coach of this team when I started following the Jazz, back in 88. I've never seen a Jazz game with anyone else as the head coach.

The Jazz don't have any time to implement a new system this season. They'll keep the current system for the rest of the season. After this season, it's all up in the air.

The Jazz need more shooting. Whether it's off the bench or starting. When AK is leading your team in 3 point %. You have shooting issues.
