What's new

Hood traded to Cleveland for Crowder; Johnson to Sacramento

Oh yes they are... will be about $10M into it at least after filling out their roster with minimum deals... Will cost them $15 - 20M.
I guess it depends at what we think Boogie will be back at. They’re at $96M without Boogie. I’m guessing Boogie gets about $20-25. Isn’t LT at $130?

I've heard about Crowder coming to camp this year out of shape. Somewhat understandable in the circumstances(his mother passed away during the summer). If he's still out of shape the Jazz should do what BKN did with Okafor - sideline him and work on his general fitness and conditioning until it's up to par and then ease him back into play. The timing for this is a bit tricky though since the players have 1 week rest around the all star break.
I'm guessing he has probably worked himself into adequate shape over the season. Okafor never played so it made sense to give him some time for conditioning.

Looks at those hamstrings

He will get the max which is $30M... or close to it to stay there... LT is at 121M. They also have to fill out the roster so 4 or 5 guys at a minimum of 1.5M so looking at $130-135M. They can stretch Ajinca but they would also likely replace his roster spot so they save a couple million maybe.

There was a reason they wanted the option... If we send our non-guaranteeds on draft night (thabo and Jerebko) they clear the 12.5 and may keep Jerebko - his guarantee date is 7/9 Thabo's is 7/1. Shaving $8m is quite helpful for them. They will need to get good minimum dudes because those guys will actually be in the rotation.

I think Dallas, Phoenix, and LA would likely offer Boogie very close to the max. Unless they decide to move Davis because they miss the playoffs this year they are in between a rock and a hard place.

He was playing better and I think he is likely close to being in good enough shape. Get him a couple games before all star break so he can use that time to get more acclimated to the system.

Dude had a **** offseason... I think the change may give him a clean slate without the whole world looking over his shoulder. The cleveland thing sounded toxic... I think he likely aligned himself with IT because of familiarity and got isolated because of his association there.

If he has the right attitude he will be a great fit and is the ******* we've missed since Booker left. Ingles is a MFer, but it is more subtle. Jae will straight boop your nose.

$121? I thought it was $130. Anyway, I think given his size and injury that more than $25 is a lot and I’d honestly wonder if NO would burn it down and trade Davis for all those Boston picks (and hopefully Hayward) before they’d bring back Boogie off a major injury. In that case they keep Mirotic. It would suck to lose out on Mirotic (again) but if Hayward winds up in a Davis and Boogie-less New Orleans it’s a respectable consolation prize.

That would make me so happy especially because the Brow wouldn't stay healthy and would screw Boston over... they'd also look like frauds and huge aholes after doing both IT and Hayward dirty.

NO situation bears watching... no guarantees... if they make the playoffs and the owner doesn't fire Demps they will absolutely keep Boogie at more than they should. If Demps gets fired I think they go rebuild.

Listening to the Woj Pod, apparently the Cavs-Kings-Utah deal hit a little snag on Thursday morning. Thankfully it was able to be worked out.

A lot of good nuggets in there about how trade deadline works and what GMs go through, etc.

I think DL was like "WTF you gave the FRP to LA... that was supposed to come here you knobs."
