Hood traded to Cleveland for Crowder; Johnson to Sacramento

I think Crowder becomes our starting PF. Not sure what happens with Favors.

We have a lot of options next year. Him, Jerebko, Sefalosha, Ingles even. And we can rotate guys based on matchups. They’re all a bit undersized but we have many bodies and of course could draft a guy as well.

If a Jazz fan had a crystal ball at the beginning of the summer and saw that not only did we lose Hayward for nothing, missing a S&T to at least get Crowder, then by the trade deadline having to trade Hood to get Crowder while behind the eight ball with Joe Johnson and forcing him up, that Jazz fan would've had a stroke.

Very happy with the trade. I am a fan of Crowder and while he has not been himself in Cleveland I'm sure the move to the Jazz will do wonders for him. He's a very solid defender with a reliable 3-pt shot (especially from the corners) who can play both forward spots and has a great contract. That's exactly what the doctor ordered for the Jazz, and I can't wait to see how he fits as the starting PF.

Of course the team's losing Hood, who's theoretically also what the Jazz need at the wing, but the truth is he's injured way too often and there was a pretty big chance he was going to walk away next summer leaving the Jazz empty handed.

Props to DL for making this move. Now trade or cut Rose opening a roster spot, and bring in another shooter who can help off the bench.

I really don't feel the need to say "great!" or "f***"! Luckily this isn't a summer trade, Crowder willl probably play tomorrow, right? Let's see what he brings to the table.

This is a bad trade! I really don't like it! People think Boston Crowder when they think Crowder. This is not what Crowder is nowadays. He's been trash all around - offense, defense, shooting, even rebounding.

I don't have as strong of a negative feeling as I did for the Rubio trade, but I would definitely have rather kept Hood if this is the best we could do.

Hood is probably a better fit in a vacuum due to his shooting/age but Crowder is signed for 2 more years at below market value & is a "Jazz type of player" ala DMC/Booker.

I was hoping we would target picks/young talent but given our recent success & current standing in the playoff picture, it makes sense that we would target players that help us win now as well as in the future. Which Crowder does.

A few months ago I thought we'd keep him but then he started being himself missing games often due to illness, various little injuries and so on. You can't rely on this guy. That's a big issue. The bigger issue is he has not been playing A-N-Y defense at all especially around the rim. That's toxic.

And although his shot is aesthetically pleasing to the eye he's a mediocre shooter. For a guy whose main strength is shooting -he can't rebound, pass and defend- the shooting stats tell a depressing story. He has an advanced mid-range game and it's fun to watch at times, perhaps playing with Lebron could help him excel in that area.

I think a struggling Cavs team with a grouchy Lebron isn’t the most conducive environment in which to work and excel.

If he’s the same guy as Boston then it’s not bad. Will be curious to see what Hood makes in free agency now. I hope it’s a ton.
