How long til we can trust Jae Crowder?

Fishing trip with Ingles would be pretty good. Don't think I could hang with Rudy, those suits...

Lol. Me and jingles would get along famously out on a lake (his boat of course) with some beers and whiskey.

Call me cynical, and I know I’ll get lambasted for saying this, but I think Mitchell bolts the first chance he can. He seems too mature and too happy for me. His dad has coached him up his whole life on how to play the PR game and the kid has done it almost perfectly.

I just don’t buy it. I’m jaded I guess.
His dad probably taught him the whole water bottle thing. Too many Jazz players have smiles on their faces. I mean, c'mon, they're not even in playoff position yet. They should be mad as hell and throwing soup at the coaches.

What kind of return do you think we could get for Mitchell, Gobert and Ingles? Trade those three and the Jazz could be swimming in draft picks for the next 5 years.

And Crowder too. He seems much too happy now that he's out of exile. How about Rubio who said Quin had already given him more coching than he had in his entire Twolves career. If you're happy and a member of the Jazz, you need to leave. There's no room for joy; this is a job - take it seriously!

What kind of return could we get for you? Send you to the Kings board for a couple of fans that might actually appreciate winning and want to support a team?

I’m serious though. He always just seems “on” like he’s Tom Cruise or Will Smith or some other weird Hollywooder.
What if he is just a damn good dude? You think all the stories pre-draft are some conspiracy? Maybe Occam's razor applies here.

So shoot me. I just see someone who’s been trained well by his father who’s in PR for the NY Mets. And my gut scares me. I suck. What else do you want me to say?

Which was probably a huge impact upon Donovan's upbringing. For christsake, this isn't his agent giving him advice on how to act; it's his dad sharing his values with his son while raising him.

I don’t disagree. But it doesn’t make it genuine. It means he’s playing his role well is all.

But good PR isn’t really just saying the right things or being able to string together the right buzzphrases. It’s more about an underlying attitude and world view, being able to recognize and appreciate the good from a particular situation and to build off of that. Donovan would obviously do that anywhere, but I don’t think there’s any insincerity about anything he’s said. I think perhaps what would give you pause is that, would he be playing for the Kings, that he’d still be finding positive things (sincere) to say about the organization, which is really more a reflection on him than the franchise.

He’s obviously said that he supported LeBron leaving, and it’s certainly possible that he would value putting himself in the best position possible than feeling he owes more to a franchise than he’s already given, but I think keeping the right structure around him and being contending is the best we can do, and if we’ve got Gobert with him over the next several years, then that’s a good start. He very well could leave us, but the odds of him leaving us for a man-crush are pretty low, I’d say. He could leave, but I doubt we’d get Haywarded.

Even if this is the case, the Jazz should control his future for 7 years.
