What's new

How much better will we be than last year?

I see possible storm clouds with 14 guys deserving minutes (everyone but Bradley) and just not enough playing time to go around.
Could see Crowder as an odd-man out if he's just all effort and no shooting again. Burks is likely a cheerleader. And if Udoh plays meaningful mins, Jazz are in trouble, as that means Gobert or Favors are hurt. Just too many players at the 1-3. Not sure how Lindsey pulls it off, but Jazz sure could trade depth for quality at 1 position.

I predict Thabo is going to play a key role. Allen will get more minutes than we expect. And Exum will slot nicely in as Rubio's back up, reducing Neto to garbage time minutes.

I agree with everything but Thabo. I predict he rides the pine a lot.

Man, I really did love watching Grayson in summer, certainly didn't know he can pass that well and make such great decisions. Not sure about his ceiling but it's great to draft an NBA-ready player from a financial standpoint. Hope he will get some PT and we'll get to see how he does against NBA players although I think he can be on the floor only in blowouts. Then come on guys, play some suffocating defense and enter Q4s with 40 point leads so we can see our new guy oftentimes. Show no mercy to the weak, don't relax ever, bring your A game always. Our roster is deep and balanced, guys in and out we should play the same game every minute.

My prediction is a 54-28 finish that is good enough for the 3rd seed in the West and the 4th best record in the NBA. I feel like that would be a very good improvement over last year. I don't feel like a better finish than that is out of the question at all though. I did everything in my power to hold my optimism in check with my prediction in order to avoid bias. I predicted 48 wins before last year, and then I predicted 48 wins again right after Rudy got healthy and the team began their hot streak last February. So I feel like I usually have good pulse on the team.

I agree Burks is gonna be gone, either at the trade deadline or after the season. Which is why I hope Grayson Allen will be ahead of him in the rotation the entire season. Why waste time playing someone who isn't in the teams future plans when we could use those minutes to start developing Allen.
One solid answer to your question runs something like this: if Burks is healthy and playing better than Allen, then he helps us win games and improve our playoff seeding.

At this point, this is an absolutely sound justification for playing any one player over another. I think it's pretty obvious that we're playing for deeper and deeper playoff runs.

The next two holes are par 5's, we ain't putting with a driver.

He had limited playing time last year before the injury and that was before acquiring Crowder. I can see him having a hard time getting very many minutes and he's probably going to have to get most of them at SF.
did you watch him play last year ?? He was really good when we sucked.

Thabo will be playing and pretty much just the 4 i reckon.

If Grayson is a solid piece Exum is expendable. Especially if X doesnt produce id be open for a trade.
