"Large contracts create huge negative on players."
Is this real life?

Who decides that sliding scale? It's a terrible idea that isn't practical.Yeah, mmkay.
How dare I think a player should live up to his contract. Such a dumb argument to think otherwise. 100%

Pressure.*What?
Yes, if players have that burden of hitting certain levels game to game on top of trying to win games. That's a terrible environment for long term growth.Pressure.*
I think it's a great idea, just impossible to enact. The idea is great. The execution isn't reasonable.Who decides that sliding scale? It's a terrible idea that isn't practical.

To me, if you sign a contract, you should play to the level of said contract or get ridiculed for not playing up to it. Sports 101.
I don't get dudes like you that are apologists for athletes with ****** contracts.
Do you still think Conley was a good addition to the Jazz with his contract?
I don't.
For 32 million dollars, I expect, at least 30 million dollar play.Define "play to the level" though. Is it based on box score stats, on/off, all star appearances, etc? There would need to be a metric that could fairly grade everyone and there isn't one, which is part of the beauty of basketball.
