Hunger Games

There's only one movie that deserves its own thread this year.... And it doesn't come out until July 20th...

Having said that, I think the real interest in Hunger Games is that just 2,000 years ago the strongest empire in Europe was doing similar things... The government forcing people to fight to the death really isn't that far fetched (it has already happened)....

This.

You would think the right would actually like it since it depicts a totalitarian government that controls everything and has taken away freedom. right? I haven't read the books or seen the movie yet. I'm just going off on what I've read/heard.

Isn't that what Obama has done basically? Of course, Brother Romney is going to change everything and 2013 is going to be like the mid-late 90s if Romney is elected...

The Hobbit comes out this year, too, guy. Whether you like it or not, it deserves it's own thread too.

From a guy who doesn't care for the LOTR films.

Considering the subject matter, I was surprised at how many kids 10 and under were at the showing I attended. It wasn't nearly as gory and violent as it could have been, but it certainly deserved its PG-13 rating. I guess parents allow kids to watch almost anything these days, though, so I shouldn't be surprised.

these days
parents these days ar epunks.
i remeber going to terminator 2 when i was 11 (r-Rated)
going to most of van dammes r rated movies.
met kids in age range 5-11 who arent allowed to watch harry potter

screw the rating.

also not forgetting i went to al 3 die hards in the cinema. at a very young age
now those where bloody and had a lot of F*** words and motherF* words :D

aah the good old days when men where free to enter the cinema with their kids regardless the rating(as long as it wasnt X-rated)

Everytime I thik you have reached the limit of your idiocy you prove me wrong.

Can anyone answer me these questions?

-Why can't the people that live in the districts just move to the Capitol where there is plenty of food? Are they held there because of their race or religion?

-They people in the district act like they have never seen food before. The main girl freaks out over a crumble of bread. Yet she is curvy and everyone looks healthy, even all the guys are all ripped and sexy looking. Makes no sense.

-The Capitol city is far more advanced in technology then our current time. So they are clearly smart people. Yet they see it fine to keep people in camps and "hungry" living like dogs, as well as watching children kill each other. Not only that but the cheer it on like the Super Bowl.

-Imagination and creativity in stories is great. But make the story consistent and believable under the setting its portrayed in.

-Also I agree its a rip off of Running Man.

Listen, I haven't read the books and most of us make fun of Beanclown for his consistent idiocy but he makes extremely valid points here, especially points two, four and five. Since I don't know enough about the book or movie to know if one or three are as valid given the context, I'll withhold my opinion. Sorry, but just from seeing the trailer, I thought the film looked pathetically dumb in a Let's Cater to the Masses, and most of all the 11-19 year old range, by Twilighting it Up.

I'll pass.
