Thus might surprise everyone but I like what Burke showed last year. His clutch shooting was insane. What I didn't like was the other 28+ minutes he was in the floor and he was a liability.

I would have preferred to see the Jazz shoot for potential last draft rather go with a safe pick aka Burke.

Hind sight is 20/20 but the three players I really liked last year (that likely would have been available at their picks) were Schroder, Giannis and Gobert.

Giannis is going to be a force in this league soon if it isn't this year. Dennis is showing a lot of promise during SL and we all know what Gobert is doing. Could you imagine if the Jazz had Giannis, Rudy and Exum on the same team? Talk about long and fun to watch.

Let's be honest though, no one thought Greek freak would have blossomed into the player he is now much less the player he will become as quickly as he has. He was one of the most likely busts in the draft. The potential was there and he has made amazing strides to reach it. Can't fault the jazz for trey in that draft. Trey was definitely the safe pick as you stated, but was also one of the few players you could definitely say will play beyond his rookie deal.

I don't disagree with you that he was a huge risk but I thought Utah is one of the few teams that could have taken that risk especially at 14.

I am surprised how quickly he has developed. I thought he'd be two years away from looking like he did during SL.

I didn't want safe at all. I wanted potential and Giannis is dripping with it, so is Exum.

Tony Parker played almost 30 minutes per game as a rookie. His role was limited, but he was out there doing those things, and slowly expanding his game. While I think Exum should start, I won't be surprised or disappointed if he doesn't; I'm only hoping for serious minutes.

Exum is nowhere near ready to start, but JLIII and Burke are backups and most likely always will be, so I voted to start Exum at PG.

take JLIII out please. i mean that's kinda retarded when you put JLIII and burke together

by your logic none of these guys are backups. Trey put up comparable or better stats than these guys in his rookie season in a corbin offense.

and countless more. don't believe me? go look it up.

trey is the only player we have with starter handles. exum sure don't have it yet. Did you even watch Exum? he will make some spectacular plays, but he will lead the league in turnovers if he has full time PG job. you don't do that to a kid. Trey is basically about good 3 years ahead of him. wanna throw your future star into the wolves? let him play next to Trey. Trey is not ball dominant. lol.

We are not crowning anybody. Everybody is a subject to scrutiny. But it's trey's job to lose. and nobody is taking it at the moment. let trey learn the new system, let him go through ups and downs. if he miserably fails THEN you start somebody because he has failed under NEW SYSTEM.

again, i'm expecting 15/7 type of season from Trey. if he regresses or stays still then you bench him. Season hasn't started yet. remember that.

and those of you who accuse a guy who attempted 12.8 shots a game a BALL HOG should never discuss basketball.

Trey Burke has some experience. He will be starting along with Alec Burks.

Dante will be the combo guard off the bench playing 20-25 minutes depending on how fast he develops.

Once Dante proves himself......Then we can decide what to do with Trey or Alec.
