I believe in the freedom to:

carry a gun without a permit
speak openly
have faith
have no faith
drink any size soda that I want
not wear a seat belt
smoke in a bar(so long as the owner is ok with it)
burn flags
pay/get paid for sex
peaceful assembly
purchase and use mind altering substances
go where ever I want without a passport
marry a man or woman or a man and a woman etc.
not buy health insurance
pay a non-licensed beautician to cut my hair
buy beer on a sunday
drink it on my front porch
...

For you to go where you want without a passport is beyond American control. If you want to go to some foreign country without one that country wont let you in. You can travel at will within the US without one.

You can buy beer on Sunday.

You can drink any size soda that is made.

Alot of these depend on the state...

Mind altering substances, alcohol is already legal to 21 and up (should be 18) and I agree on marijuana.

I'm pretty conservative, but seriously? There are some crazy ideas on here.

For example:

The gun issue. The most dangerous thing you can do it own a gun. You have to have a license to drive a car, why is that ok, but not a gun permit? I'm all for freedom, but I'm also all for common sense. If you want freedom, then you should change other age limits before you tackle gun issues.

You can speak openly. This is the only country in the world where you can speak openly. Others don't have to like what you say, and can ostracize you for your speech, but you can speak openly. I so sick of people whining about freedom of speech. You have no clue how good you have it in this country.

Faith - no one cares anymore. Do what you want. It seems like the only people who bring up faith/no faith are the ones trying to push their position on someone else. LEAVE US ALONE.

Soda - Yeah, that's stupid. If you want poor, obese people to quit buying soda, quit allowing them to buy soda with food stamps. Simple solution.

Seat belt - I'm not informed enough on this issue to say either way. What moron wouldn't want to wear a seatbelt?

Smoke in a bar - I agree.

Burn flags - again, you can do this. Why are you complaining?

pay/get paid for sex - Not really informed enough. Would have to see the statistics on how many men/women/children are being forced into this trade.

Peaceful assembly - nonissue

Purchase and use mind altering substances - torn on this. You have to draw the line somewhere. They did. We are currently re-evaluating the line state by state. So, it is being worked on and in the proper way.

Passport - Stupid idea. I want to know who is coming and going into my homeland.

Marry and man/woman - Agree

Not buy health insurance - Against this. Any intelligent person would buy health insurance. The uninsured pay more than those with insurance. Insurance fills the schedule. Uninsured patients fill the profits.

non-licensed beautician - again, why? Don't you want to know the person taking scissors to your head knows what they are doing?

buy beer on sunday - agree. stupid law

drink it on my front porch - seriously? Is that a law? Or do you just want to take away other's freedom of speech and their freedom to judge you and talk badly about you? You can't have it both ways.

Right so nationalism impedes my liberty.

You can buy beer on Sunday.

Never been stuck in Utah county on a sunday, huh.

You can drink any size soda that is made.

Right and I used to be able to smoke in a bar.

Alot of these depend on the state

I don't like states making dumb laws anymore than I like the fed doing it.

Mind altering substances, alcohol is already legal to 21 and up (should be 18) and I agree on marijuana.

Who are you to tell me that marijuana and alchohol are ok for me but not acid, mushrooms, heroin, cocaine, etc. As long as one doesn't hurt anyone else they have the right to poison themselves.

P.S. I don't use drugs. I don't even smoke pot, but I think I should be able to snort a line of coke if I feel like it.

Is there any type of freedom you think the government should restrict? Maybe you should start a bank in your garage...

When you get in a car accident with out your seatbelt and with out your health insurance, should the hospital be free to kick you out on the curb? What about when you show up at the hospital as obese 55 year old with Type II diabetes, kidney failure and no health insurance?

When you are on your mind altering drugs I ask that you stay inside and avoid getting addicted to it.

Smoking is not drinking a soda so that response is stupid.

I live in utah and can buy beer on Sunday. Maybe you should be asking why Utah county has laws that other parts of Utah do not?

I wasn't defending, or attacking states rights. Merely pointing out that some of these, such as gay marriage and gun rights vary depending on the state.

No nationalism? You want a 1 world government? Good luck with that. IF you want freedom of that nature take it up with the other 200+ countries.

I'm pretty conservative, but seriously? There are some crazy ideas on here.

For example:

The gun issue. The most dangerous thing you can do it own a gun.
Driving a car is ten times more dangerous than owning a gun.
You can speak openly.
I know it's great.
Faith - no one cares anymore.
Also great.
Soda - Yeah, that's stupid. If you want poor, obese people to quit buying soda, quit allowing them to buy soda with food stamps. Simple solution.
or don't give them food stamps. tell them to mow lawns or sell themselves for sex if they want food.
Seat belt - I'm not informed enough on this issue to say either way. What moron wouldn't want to wear a seatbelt?
What moron would want a motorcycle?
pay/get paid for sex - Not really informed enough. Would have to see the statistics on how many men/women/children are being forced into this trade.
Forcing makes it a crime. There will always be more of this in a black market than in a free one.
Peaceful assembly - nonissue
Read the Patriot act. Is an issue.
Purchase and use mind altering substances - torn on this. You have to draw the line somewhere. They did. We are currently re-evaluating the line state by state. So, it is being worked on and in the proper way.
You draw the line when the little ******* tries to steal from you then you put him away.
Passport - Stupid idea. I want to know who is coming and going into my homeland.
You have no idea who is coming in/out of your homeland. Besides it's just imaginary lines and nationalist crap.
Marry and man/woman - Agree
I really don't see why people do this anyway.
Not buy health insurance - Against this. Any intelligent person would buy health insurance. The uninsured pay more than those with insurance. Insurance fills the schedule. Uninsured patients fill the profits.
In a free society you have the right to be a dumbass. The Doctor has a right to sue you for your bills.
non-licensed beautician - again, why? Don't you want to know the person taking scissors to your head knows what they are doing?
It doesn't keep me up at night.
drink it on my front porch - seriously? Is that a law? Or do you just want to take away other's freedom of speech and their freedom to judge you and talk badly about you? You can't have it both ways.
Yes it is a law. you can get a public intox on your front porch.

No nationalism? You want a 1 world government? Good luck with that. IF you want freedom of that nature take it up with the other 200+ countries.

I would never want one world government. I want governments that are not Nationalistic. It's a word look it up.

You don't say. It is also a pipe dream. That's a phrase, look it up.

I believe in the freedom to:

How about a bazooka or a grenade launcher? Should there be any restrictions on the weapons a person can own?

smoke in a bar(so long as the owner is ok with it)

Should a smoker be required to pay a fee to contribute to the health care costs of everyone else in the bar? For example, if a person has really bad asthma and suffers an attack from the cigarette smoke, who pays for the hospitalization?

not wear a seat belt
not buy health insurance

As was pointed out, whose paying if you get injured because you don't wear that seat belt?

burn flags

Legal throughout the US.

pay a non-licensed beautician to cut my hair

Licensing occurs, in part, because beauticians can actually spread disease from customer to customer, without endangering themselves. Who's paying if you get hepatitis?

How about a bazooka or a grenade launcher?
^An individual no. A militia yes.
Should a smoker be required to pay a fee to contribute to the health care costs of everyone else in the bar? For example, if a person has really bad asthma and suffers an attack from the cigarette smoke, who pays for the hospitalization?
Smokers should get tax credit for spending 7 less years on ssi and fewer years in extended care facilities. If you don't like smoke go to a different bar.
As was pointed out, whose paying if you get injured because you don't wear that seat belt?
I am. If I can't pay sue me and take my things. Maybe you should help to get motorcycles banned.
Legal throughout the US.
And I hope it stays that way.
Licensing occurs, in part, because beauticians can actually spread disease from customer to customer, without endangering themselves. Who's paying if you get hepatitis?
Again I am. Beauticians are licensed because beauty schools lobby for it. Janitors and cashiers spread disease too. Let's start a janitorial/cashier college and make sure they are licensed.

^An individual no. A militia yes.

So, we agree there should be limits on weapons, and just draw the line a little differently.

Smokers should get tax credit for spending 7 less years on ssi and fewer years in extended care facilities. If you don't like smoke go to a different bar.

How does that compare to the additional costs in lost productivity, additional health expenses, etc.? Got any hard numbers? Also, you didn't answer the question. What's the smokers responsibility regarding the damage his smoking causes others?

I am. If I can't pay sue me and take my things. Maybe you should help to get motorcycles banned.

1) Motorcycles riders will still be required to have insurance.
2) What if you have no things? Who pays then?

Again I am. Beauticians are licensed because beauty schools lobby for it. Janitors and cashiers spread disease too. Let's start a janitorial/cashier college and make sure they are licensed.

Do you really not understand the difference in seriousness between spreading contact diseases and blood-born diseases?

Also, please link to the source of your research on beautician license history. It will be amusing, I'm sure.

Mine was not sarcasm. Eliminating food stamps will bring back starvation.

I'm not for eliminating food stamps. I'm for eliminating 80% of what they can buy with food stamps.

Uncooked meat, fresh veggies and fruit (no canned stuff), loaf of bread, uncooked pasta (spaghetti and elbows only), milk, and that's it. Those on food stamps will eat healthier than anyone else. If they don't like it, simple solution: get a job.

Really? Ohh man I had no idea. I've changed my mind.

Seriously, food stamps is an emergency program from the great depression. The statement that Americans would starve without it is fear mongering.
