I will host a Jazzfanz only poker game either late April or early May.

The buy-in will be affordable.

I will provide food. I will provide beer to those who imbibe.

My poker room is undergoing renovations.

Here is a sample, this will be the felt (or something like it, this is a mock-up) on one of my tables...

Game will be held, if at all possible, during a Jazz playoff game.

Extra chips will be awarded for coming to the game wearing Jazz related attire (tattoos count @fishonjazz )

I'm busting out the chocolate fountain for this thing! Fresh strawberries, hot flowing chocolate... if you are a Jazz fan you are going to want to be there!

Oh, and while my chips are not Jazz related and I know like 0.0001% of the population gives a **** about high-end poker chips, I'm about two week away from getting a nice set of these guys...

Looks pretty posh to me, considering yogurt prices and all....

my first wife grew up in a private casino, and I learned poker from her.... a little.... and I just had to realize she could read my face if she hadn't marked the cards..... lol.

years later, when I finally watched John Wayne's "Hell Town" movie, I could empathize with the rube.

Hope you have some fun.

Do you play usually with real money i.e every player gives a la 10 USD and then you divide all the chips and the last survivor collects the pot? When i played that way with friends about ten years ago, then it took about 2-3 hours to finish one game. All-in was not allowed i.e the bets started 10/20, then 20/40 etc. Our starting money per player was about 2 USD :-) so the winner received about 10-14 USD.
What i discovered - when we played without money at all, then it was not fun or tense at all; even the tiny amount of money made the process much more interesting. I.e it was very interesting to observe who is bluffing, who plays only when it is 101% chance to win the round etc.

I will be a relative local by then! I am in.

Full disclaimer, I haven't played poker basically ever.

I'll obviously be there. But i don't know if I'll play poker as I'd like to focus on the Jazz game.
