What's new

I know I will regret this.. (car)

Also, I'm not suggesting that PKM is weak, before anyone jumps all over me for that.

This has been a great thread. I thought it would be NAOSy.

I appreciate all the input. I am keeping, btw, my customized (to me) desert truck. So no matter what I buy, else, that ma truck.

I almost feel sorry for people that go through life and not make a connection with an "ol' Bess" or whatever.. My old Bronc and my current truck are similar to kids.

They are warriors. Doing more and surviving everything that other mere hunks of junk would have quit.

I have sold a couple of 4WDs and a motorcycle that took time for me to get over. The only vehicle that I've felt permanent regret about selling was my '67 Mercury Cougar from high school.

I understand being emotionally attached.

'15 Corvette is the real answer btw. Just give it a test drive as part of the process, and you'll be taking it home. Book it.

First world problems.

I am currently losing sleep over which car I can afford to make major repairs on. On one hand, the wires are sticking out of my Prius tires. On the other hand, my Tahoe has been metal-on-metal braking for a month now.

Oh, the decisions, decisions. Woe.

On topic, get the Lambo and quit worrying about it.

Discount Tire on Ebay has $100 off right now. I understand discount instore will match...Also, change your own brake pads, it takes just as long as waiting at a mechanic at a fraction of the cost.

Except he might die from improper installation.

There is no "might" about it. What a horrible idea.

I'd rather be a dick than drive a Prius. Can't imagine what t would be like to drive a Prius AND be an earth murdering dick..

No offense trout.

Too late, much offense taken. T.P. (The Prius) has feelings, you know. She hates it when Mrs. Trout says similar ****.

Doing brakes is only slightly more difficult than adding wiper fluid.

So yeah... Trout should get someone to do it for him.

If they're metal on metal, he's probably going to need rotors, too. Plus, you're forgetting it's Trout here. I once had to go over to house and show him how to change his wiper blades.

Speaking of which we are probably going to buy another Prius here in Germany too. Found a 2008 fully loaded with only about 30k miles for under $10k.

The answer to the problem in the OP is simple. I've recently addressed it in my own life (albeit at a smaller scale). You get the nicest black Audi possible, and then call it a day. It's the black suit of cars.

Making this into some crisis of authenticity or meaning is stupid as ****. Sooo gawd damn stupid. It's a car. A car. Jesus Christo.

It is a car, indeed.

Got a drive from a guy today from Groebers to Schkeuditz near Leipzig. Some random guy stopped to give a few of us a ride since the trains are not running due to the strike. He drove a serious POS, but it ran and saved our asses from walking for 2 hours or paying 80 bucks for a taxi.
