We won't have as much pressure or expectation to win the first two games of the series, perhaps making it easier to steal one in LA. On the other hand, I could see us folding under the pressure of being expected to win the first two at home if we had HCA and then have our backs against the wall the rest of the series.

Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

Clipper can still lose a game. They have to play the Rockets. Jazz could still win out.

Yesterday it was warm and sunny, my kid mowed the lawn and the jazz looked fantastic. Tonight the temperature has plummeted, it is snowing sideways and jazzfanz are on suicide watch. I wonder what Monday will bring?

HCA is overrated with this team. We can win on the road or lose at home. This ain't the deron/boozer team that wins at home all the time.

Still would have been better to draw Houston, but Jazz can beat Clips at their home and take HCA.

No big ****in deal.

Game 7 in slc would be sweet. And could still happens so everyone should stfu who act like it's a done deal.

And even if we get the 5 seed this team when healthy has what it takes to beat the clipps

I think we get to the second round. Lose to the warriors in 6 in a competitive series. Quote me on it.

Considering the goal was to MAKE the playoffs, where we sit regardless of the result of the final 2 games, I'd say Jazz are in a good place(fans not so much).

I don't mind be the 5th seed. It puts a ton of pressure on LAC to win both of their first two home games. We steal Game 1 or Game 2 and we are in a great position. Other way around we lose Game 1 or Game 2 with home court and be in a horrible position.

I can't speak for everyone but my goal was to do much better than just make the playoffs. Whoever set their bar that low is ****ing weak.

I think this is drastically overstating things. No one is talking about the Clips this year and they've been to the playoffs before and won multiple series with their current core. If you think the Clips are gonna feel pressure and worry about losing to us, a team who's not won one game in the playoffs let alone a series, especially when they outperformed us head-to-head this year, you're gravely mistaken.

I'm not saying we can't beat them in a series either. I'm just saying let's not feign the Clips are afraid of the big, bad Jazz. It's laughable and we haven't proven ****.

Chris Paul and this current Clippers group have never made it out of the second-round. Don't act like there isn't pressure to win. You have Doc Rivers as a coach who has won a championship and a high payroll with multiple guys who have been all-stars. Losing to the Jazz could trigger them to make a huge move in the offseason. What pressure do the Jazz have? First time playoff team with this group going up against the seasoned Clippers who will most likely be the higher seed. You're smarter than this.

I guess we are each entitled to our own opinions. Call me pessimistic but based on histories, head-to-head, and the way each team has finished this season, I'm not very confident against the Clips.

I wish I was but they've won 15 playoff games the last three years and that's despite rolling out a mod squad last season. We've won zero. None. We won't have homecourt and I trust Paul, Griffin, Redick and Crawford in big moments a lot more than I just Hayward, Hood, and Hill.

I hope I'm wrong. I do. But I think we lose in five or six games.

Having the first two games in La is not the worst thing in the world.

I played tennis and lived by the book winning ugly. One of the principles taught in the book was always to defer your serve unless it was a huge advantage for you. Because you are tight and feeling each other out you have a better chance of breaking serve in that first game and can be warm when you serve. Puts more pressure on the other guy. Same principle here. Game 1 in your home court is not preferable imo... game 7 doe is a huge advantage.

If we lose in 5-6 games then that means we've dropped at least 1-2 games at home... but your argument is oddly about getting HCA?

Neato-stat-of-the-week:

In Jazz franchise playoff history, the Jazz first Round series record based on seed:
#4 seed: 2-3
#5 seed: 3-1

Something interesting: Only twice in the last 10 years has the team with HCA won the West 4/5 matchup.
